5 Michigan schools projected win total vs actual wins
Just a look at how well our state did overall this year with all 5 teams making a bowl.
Vegas win projections:
Michigan State 4.5 / 10 wins
Michigan 7.5 / 12 wins
Central Michigan 6.5 / 8 wins
Eastern Michigan 6.5 / 7 wins
Western Michigan 6 / 7 wins
31 project wins vs 44 actual wins
Season Highlights include:
-EMU won 7 games!
-WMU beat ACC champ Pitt 44-41 and also beat MAC champs NIU 42-21. Both of these were road wins.
-CMU was a 1 pt loss to MAC champ NIU away from ending the season on a 7 game winning streak.
-MSU gave a Heisman hopeful 6 carries vs OSU because passing TDs are worth more points. There is no chance you can have smart, balanced, and efficient drives featuring the run and beat OSU.
-UM PURE MICHIGAN!
There is still a chance at 6 more wins including a National Championship, a playoff win, a win over Boise, a chance to beat a team that lost to WMU but somehow won a conference with Clemson in it.
Also a side note Bet MGM also had "Carl" projected to win 6 games?

MSU is going to now get the best players from the directional schools via transfer portal that Michigan can't compete in.
December 9th, 2021 at 4:09 PM ^
Yeah, but he'll only to able to manage to get 7 now, instead of 32.

As rule changes go, the implications for that one are underrated.

I must have missed the rule change. You can only sign 7 transfer portal players per year going forward?
December 9th, 2021 at 7:45 PM ^
Thank you. I did see that, but 32 was mentioned and I wasn't absolutely sure what was being talked about. The fact Msu signed 20? players from the portal isn't going to happen again.
edit: Signed 18 h.s. and 14 transfers in.

They means if 7 leave they can sign up to 32. If 7 players transfer out of MSU then they could sign zero high school prospects and 32 transfers if they want… unless I’m missing something.

Even if that’s the case it wouldn’t be wise. They would get fewer playing years out of the transfers than taking freshmen. The 25 limit is not added to for expiring eligibility.

This reads like you can sign 7 transfers over the 25 limit (as long as you have 7 transfer out) but doesn’t seem to limit how many of the 25 can be transfers? Maybe I’m reading it wrong.

Not true unfortunately. Transfers are not capped at 7. If MSU, or any team for that matter, brings in the maximum number of freshman permitted in their newest recruiting class, then yes, they're capped at 7 transfers. However, if they take fewer than the max of freshmen, they can take more transfers.

The link I posted literally says "up to a limit of 7."

My money’s on Carl!
December 9th, 2021 at 3:43 PM ^
Seriously. Someone there must have a kid named Carl? Still feels like they are selling him short at 6 wins.

I’m going with Lenny +7.5 games. Springfield A&M is due for a big year.

CAAARRRRRRLLL!

I think they were talking about Carl Spackler. Cinderella story, out of nowhere, former greenskeeper, now about to become the Masters champion.

EMU winning 7 games is a monumental achievement.
How has Chris Creighton not been hired by a bigger program? He's a miracle worker.

Shitty agent?

He's been rendered colorblind by the gray turf.

How many of the Tucker 42 can stay multiple years? Are most one year only?

Go Eagles!

Hurons?

Not surprised. Too much stock in covid year ...
December 9th, 2021 at 5:48 PM ^
I'm amazed Creighton hasn't been snatched up by someone bigger yet - EMU is now an average-ish MAC team, which is amazing from where they started.
Also, credit to MSU for winning more games than people expected; I'm interested to see how they handle next year considering they're unlikely to get Walker (or a player of similar caliber) from the transfer portal next season.

Thought WMU would be a bit better with the portal guys and promising early win against Pitt (but as a Chip fan, glad they were not).
December 9th, 2021 at 11:11 PM ^
I mean, they did make the Quick Lube/Lane Bowl.

Isn't over and under for betting purposes regular season games and not conference championship games? As far as the bet, it would be 11 wins which obviously is over and would only come into play if the over and under was 11.5.

We went to the replay booth and under further review I awarded Michigan a 12th regular season win.
My thread my rules!
Go blue!!
