I spy USC at 35. What would the odds be Urban Meyer is the head coach there next season?

I would expect us to beat anyone ranked 6 or lower. OSU and above I still expect a loss. But it’s very close.

So how do you come up with such an arbitrary number, from such arbitrary polls, that don't account for arbitrary injuries (or any other such arbitrary context)?  Expecting a loss to any team, before training camp is ever a few days old, is just ridiculous!

Oyy!!  Shouldn't you be texting a croot, somewhere??

Michigan plays:

#5, #9, #19, #20, and #27 at home

#16 and #18 on the road.

They play at Indiana where the last two games there have gone to OT.

MTSU, Maryland, Rutgers, and Illinois are probably the only “easy” games on the schedule this year.

I’m not sure how easy Maryland is going to be this year.  If it were at home, I would be pretty confident UM would dominate.  On the road, with where it sits on the schedule (between ND and MSU), could be a tricky game with their new coaching staff and QB.  Hopefully I’m wrong.

It feels like all this preseason yip-yap is media jockeying for real estate in the minds of CFB fans. I’ll be glad when the season starts.

After 4 years with Harbaugh I am confident the program is the strongest it’s been in 15 years.  Given the fact we have no Big Ten titles and only one win over OSU during that period, this should be the year to right those wrongs.  That being said, this schedule is tough and I expect two losses.

My hope is those losses will not be against MSU/OSU and that we can still win the Big Ten.  I don’t really care if we make the playoff, although that would be great.  A season very similar to what Penn State had in 2016 (11-3 record, wins over OSU/MSU at home, a Big Ten Championship and a Final AP Ranking of 7) would be awesome.  That would be a GREAT season this year in my view.  Go Blue!

FUN FACT: Michigan plays six of the top 20 teams in that mashed listing of pre-season polls. Clemson plays only one and Alabama plays only three of those of the top 20 teams.

And if these rankings hold true at the end of the season, Michigan could win every one of those games but lose to OSU, and the narrative would still be that Harbaugh has never beat anyone with a pulse or won a big game.

And Bama would get all kinds of credit again for making it through the brutal SEC schedule they have to endure with all 3 ranked opponents they had to play in between FCS games.
