Click the link.

This was said today during the B1G conference call. Not yesterday where Harbaugh just said that next year could get interesting.

I for one think he should just because he could make more of an impact on the offensive side of the ball, although he is a phenomal open field tackler, he just isn't that good into coverage with technique. I think he could be a crazy good RB for us as we need a speed burner.

We need him on defense, though. Only if there's someone that can step up to his level of play on defense.

This year is only the second time EVER that Michigan has had two players with double-digit PBUs.

Lewis (19) and Peppers (10). 2003 was the only other time with Markus Curry and Jeremy LeSueur both having 10.

But he will miss all the good house, and frat parties, and miss being part of maize rage and miss the awesome jalapeno and bacon mac and cheese and way cool college stuff like that.

about his NFL stock.  Remember he's a great football player, but his size is also a factor as I don't see him having a specific position ... ever.  I think he's the best nickel back ever at Michigan ... and I think we need him free to make plays and TFL's (he's not a cornerback).

Finally, if he sees that a NC is a real possibility - I can see him coming back for 2 more years.  He and Rashan !!!

IMO the only thing he is truly elite at is playing against the run or screen passes from the Nickel spot.  He is a good kick returner but so are Lewis and Chesson. He is good in coverage but can be taken advantage of, he isn't at Lewis' level yet.  A couple times this season he has lost track of the ball in the air and has a tendency to take too many PI calls.   Now the sum of all those skills makes him a unique talent but I worry about him being good at many things but not great at anything.  There is only so much practice time for him at this level.  Either way he is a fun player to watch.  I hope we see a pick 6 on a screen pass before he leaves.

On offense I could see him in a Reggie Bush role, especially if Smith can step it up and take on a LenDale White role.  Peppers is the more versitale threat but Smith carries the bulk of the load between the tackles.

I'd prefer he focus on defense and kick returns only, but that requires other guys stepping up on offense and making plays.

you have extremely high expectations for him then.

This is his actual first year ... he is still learning to play college football.  He plays with exceptional energy, is among the faster players we have and has great ball skills and an exceptional knowledge of the game.  As I mentioned - he was out of his element at cornerback this last Saturday ... however, just putting him on the field as a part of the offense creates issue for the opposing team (Dantonio called 2 TO's just because they didn't know what they were going to do to defend him).  He's just a player they need to account for.

Peppers has every chance to be a Wolverine legend ... especially with Harbaugh leading the team.

Everyone expects him to be Charles Woodson.  I've just been realistic on his play so far, elite in one area, good but not great in others.

I don't expect him to be Charles Woodson on D and Reggie Bush on O.  I said that I can see him playing a Reggie Bush type role if the coaches move him to offense primarily.  Personally I don't think that is a good idea.  I'd rather he stick to defense and returns.   Remember, Woodson didn't see the field on offense until his 3rd season.

Ugh, 2003, that was a good year despite the loss to Oregon and blowing a 14 point lead at Iowa.  It really fizzled out at the end though.  I remember sitting there in the second quarter at the rose bowl, and watching Navarre's pass bounce off Braylons foot into a USC players hands, I knew it was gonna be a long game after that.

I think people are underestimating the impact having a legitimate threat at RB would have on this offense. It's been pretty clear this entire year that our RBs are somewhere between meh and awful, and it's hurt us a lot, even if we're too used to sub-par RB production to notice. Peppers is obviously a force on defense and should be even better next year, but I don't think it's as easy of a choice as Brian and co. seem to think.

Does anyone else find it ironic that Harbaugh is talking openly about Peppers being an offensive player the week of the OSU game? No? Just me? Okay.
