This is the descending # of points M has scored against Sparty since 2008.  We have not scored a TD against Sparty since the 2011 season (3 years ago).  Does the trend continue?  After watching OSU destroy Rutgers yesterday I say yes, but then Sparty had trouble in Bloomington so I am cautiously optimistic.  Thoughts?

time in my 35 years of life im not excited able this game at all. My Spartan friend and I bet 50 on the game every year. Over the weekend I bought out of our bet for 25. I'll probably watch the first half and then take the wife to a haunted house.

So OSU dominated 56-17, but Sparty struggled yet won by the same logic? Boy if 56 points is struggling I would sure love to struggle. Sparty didn't struggle at all, they wore their opponents out and slowly suffocated them like they do to almost everyone. I think our defense is good enough to win some field position battles, but I think Sparty is too well coached and prepare as well as anyone in the country defensively. This week will tell a lot about Hoke and his level of incompetence as he has had 2 weeks to prepare while MSU has just 6 days to do the same. If Hoke didn't find some weaknesses to exploit and gets beat down again he needs to walk his ass back to San Diego. Not too optimistic but hoping the extra week helps us in some way or another.

At least we have Coach Funk - the best offensive line coach in the country - to make sure our running game mauls MSU.  We need more coaches like Coach Funk.

...we're screwed.  Oregon has the template to beat Sparty.  Just go, go, go.  If you keep their guys on the field and snap the ball quickly, it gives their defense less time to set up and figure out what you're doing.

It may at least keep us in the game for a half.  Tressel outcoached us in 2006 when he opened up the offense and it took us a half to regroup.  Maybe Nuss can have a similar plan in mind.

we havent scored a TD against them in 3 years.  Can we just beat that goal? I will call it a success.

MSU is going to be fired up to kick us while we're down. Dantiono has built something impressive at MSU and it started with the Rodriguez years. Dantonio took over the state in recruiting from 08 onward. Now Brady has recruited excellently however he hasn't developed said recruits. Anyway don't expect MSU to come out flat against us. We're their only rival and Dantonio still has little man syndrome from Mike Hart's comments. if we had shown ANY improvement over the year I would give us a chance;however we haven't. Look for us running out of the gun like we did vs PSU and some trick plays early. We'll turn the ball over and they won't. MSU 41-10. If Devon gets hurt it'll be worse.
