2022 SG Fletcher Loyer to Purdue

Submitted by IncrediblySTIFF on November 24th, 2020 at 1:41 PM

Per mlive, Purdue beat out Michigan for the younger brother of MSU's Foster Loyer for this top 150 composite recruit, a 6'5 possibly-just-a-shooter type.

Fletcher played in Michigan until transferring to Homestead outside FT Wayne (where Caleb Swanigan also played)

Good player but I'm going to go ahead and trust that the coaching staff has other irons in the fire.  No day drinking or FIRE HARBAUGH tweets required after reading.

Does he have a different mom than Foster? 6'5" is like 6 inches taller than his older brother.

Snarky comment generator:

Izzo secretly hoping his brother will transfer to join him at Purdue.

Almost as highly rated as his brother!  Hope he can translate to college equally as well!

There was a video that Brian posted here, of his msu brother getting stepped on after tripping I think, that made me laugh out loud... now I actually don't remember it, all I remember was funny as heck.

Yeah, Notre Dame, Utah, Missouri and others as well. Seems like I keep seeing this posted as beating out Michigan as if it was a top 2 or something. Somehow, some way I feel as if Howard will overcome this in 2022.

yeah, he had an "offer" last summer but I'm guessing it was contingent on performance, etc

his 3 point numbers after 2 years of high school could make him an outstanding catch and shoot contributor.  His Dad was also interim coach for the Pistons in 2014 after Maurice Cheeks was fired compiling an 8-24 record

Not worried about Michigan here, and even my Purdue friends weren't aware of this guy before he committed

Great fit for Fletcher. Great kid that attended my camp for the last few years. While he's certainly a high-major prospect, he doesn't necessarily fit the mold of player Coach Howard is pursuing. We never made a big push here and to be candid, we have bigger fish to fry. Best of luck to the young man at Purdue.

Coach Howard prefers prospects that are more physically gifted athletes that can compete early on. That's really across the board, as opposed to the SG position exclusively.

There is a possibility to add a a player late in the 2021 cycle, but it would likely have to be an impact player rather than a prospect that projects to be a backend rotation player.
