You've got:

Alabama - Sophomore Bryce Young (#2 overall)

Clemson - Sophomore DJ Uiagalelei (#10 overall)

OSU - Sophomore CJ Stroud (#42 overall) or Freshman Kyle McCord (#25 Overall)

I think Bama is easily in the best QB position. They just made Mac Jones, a 3* recruit, look like Joe Burrow. Bryce Young is easily the best QB prospect they've ever had. I think the next 2-3 years will be Bama's for the taking.

Clemson has a head start since DJ got to start a few games while Trevor was out but they also haven't necessarily been keeping up with Bama the past few years in recruiting. Since 2018, Clemson has had the #7, #10, #2, #4 classes. Bama has steadily kept ahead with the #5, #1, #2, #1 classes.

I still want to see what OSU and Ryan Day can do without their superstars. No more Chase Young, Justin Fields, JK Dobbins, Jeff Okudah. And the Sith Lord Emperor Meyer might be finally out of the program. Next year will be a true test if OSU can reload instead of rebuild.

2021 class:

SDE:  Jack Sawyer #4 overall  (looks like another Bosa)

RB:  TreVeyon Henderson #24 overall

Another 5* WR to add to the 2 from 2020 class

And throw in another 5* OL.

And that's just the superstars.  OSU will be young but that looks more like reload than rebuild to me.

Having said that, I'm not convinced that Ryan Day is Urban Meyer level good.  It wasn't that hard to keep the train rolling, and so we'll see how well he develops and integrates this new talent.

Talking strictly about next years team. Those guys listed aren't likely to be major contributors as true freshman and if they do start I don't expect them to match anything close to what Dobbins, Young, or Fields did next year. Now 2022, 2023 and 2024 are totally different stories.

Look more towards the development of Zach Harrison and Garrett Wilson. Those guys might be the biggest stars on the team next year.

Point is, it will be interesting to see if Day can keep OSU dominant without the other worldly talents of Fields, Dobbins, Young etc that he has been blessed with his first two years coaching. They will still be more talented than any other BIG 10 team but they certainly wont be as talented as the 2019 and 2020 teams.

OSU is the huge favorite to land the #2 overall player in the country too, another DE.  So they're getting 2 top 4 overall DEs in one class.

But that 5 star dual threat Bama QB is supposed to be special.  Kyler Murray level of talented.

Bama's 2021 class is the highest ranked of any class in history, pretty good chance OSU's ends up the 2nd highest rated in history.

I'm not sure how much people understand the gap between a #1 class and a #10 class. The #1 class likely has at least 7-8 of the ten best players between the two classes. String that across 2-3 years and you have a full set of starting players, each being higher rated than their starting opponent.

And outside of a superman game from Justin Fields, this team was pretty pedestrian all year long.

And if you don't think Meyer is not very much still involved with the program then I don't know what to tell you. The 2019 team was nothing short of a super team. 2020 was the remnants of that super team with the most important player returning (Fields). Now 2021 looks like it will be a genuinely new team so it will be interesting to see how that team does next year.

Alabama, Clemson, OSU, Oklahoma... groundhog day again.

Interested to see how the TV ratings are for tonight.  Until the ratings tank, it'll just be a repeat with the same 4 or 5 teams year in - year out.

MICHIGAN is supposed to be one of those football factories. Stop hoping for the NCAA to save us.

We're literally better than UGA, ND and UF, all schools that've achieved more than us recently. We just don't expense the same amount of "resources" to win as them, even though we objectively have more said "resources".

OSU probably makes the playoffs again, but you could make an argument it will be their worst team since 2017. Their 2019 and 2020 recruiting classes were not as good as 2021 or what 2022 will be, and Fields isn't being replaced by a 5 star QB. They'll still win the Big Ten, but I think they'll have a slight drop off so I don't see them winning it all next year.

The final 4 will be 4 of Bama, Clemson, OSU, Oklahoma and Georgia. Maybe Georgia gets in next year.

UNC at +5000. QB coming back. Offense was legitimately great. Mack Brown is a good coach / recruiter / organizer. Play in division opposite Clemson. Can defense take a step forward?

Texas at +5000. Not a true believer in Sark, but that team has a hell of a lot better than 50-1 talent.

ESPN's Too Early Top 25 for 2021 includes Coastal Carolina and Liberty, but not Michigan.

I think that's good—when Michigan goes into a season highly-ranked it seems to fall on its ass more often than not. Maybe one of the assistants can use it as motivation.

It’ll be Bama, Clemson, and OSU and maybe...A&M? Oregon? UGA? Someone to get destroyed in the semis by Bama. Then it’ll be exciting to see who wins it all between Bama and winner of Clemson/OSU. Very exciting.
