2021 SG Kobe Bufkin announcing commitment on Friday

This one has the looks of being Michigan's 3rd commitment in the 2021 class. Bufkin is the 78th ranked player in the 247 Composite and quotes offers from Michigan, MSU, LSU, OSU, DePaul, Northwestern, Missouri, TCU, Rhode Island and VCU.  He's a playmaking SG who could develop into a lead guard in time or, more likely in my opinion, will be a good secondary playmaker.  Michigan holds all nine crystal balls on 247, including the usual heavy hitters from Sam Webb and Brian Snow.

Assuming the CBs hold and Bufkin commits, Juwan is creating the perfect foundation for the 2021 class with three guys who project as 3-4 year players who would blend will with any of the higher end talent that Michigan is still pursuing (Jalen Warley, Matthew Cleveland, Harrison Ingram, Charles Bediako, Efton Reid) and the guys they signed in 2020.

#1 player in Michigan for 2021 class, Rivals #61 player in the country. Sweet shot, smooth player.  Got that "Lefty" thing going too, ala Jalen Rose.

Would be a perfect fit with the 2020 and 2021 classes to date.  Hopefully, the balls ring true for the Maize n Blue...

Great building out the foundation of a big class. I love getting a solid backstop of 3-4 year players to commit first and we can spend the rest of the year gunning for the big boys. Also, only 8 comments? I guess the Mgoblogaratti would rather flame each other in OT threads than talk about this class the JH is building up here.

I feel like Juwan is quickly picking things up and learning on the fly. He swung for the fences and went big last recruiting class and only ended up with 1 of the really big fish he was after. This year he is building this class with strong, likely multi year players. This is really going to allow him to push for the higher rated guys and ultimately be completely fine if they go elsewhere.

Really love where this program is going under Juwan. Preemptive welcome to the good guys Kobe!
