2021 SG Kobe Bufkin announcing commitment on Friday
This one has the looks of being Michigan's 3rd commitment in the 2021 class. Bufkin is the 78th ranked player in the 247 Composite and quotes offers from Michigan, MSU, LSU, OSU, DePaul, Northwestern, Missouri, TCU, Rhode Island and VCU. He's a playmaking SG who could develop into a lead guard in time or, more likely in my opinion, will be a good secondary playmaker. Michigan holds all nine crystal balls on 247, including the usual heavy hitters from Sam Webb and Brian Snow.
Assuming the CBs hold and Bufkin commits, Juwan is creating the perfect foundation for the 2021 class with three guys who project as 3-4 year players who would blend will with any of the higher end talent that Michigan is still pursuing (Jalen Warley, Matthew Cleveland, Harrison Ingram, Charles Bediako, Efton Reid) and the guys they signed in 2020.
I feel like MSU is out of it with the commit they got today.
hopefully Kobe comes here and we can yell KOBE! Every time he drains a 3
hopefully Kobe comes here and we can yell KOBE! Every time he attempts a shot
FIFY
Seems like there is (or should be) a good joke or two about the name Bufkin....
#1 player in Michigan for 2021 class, Rivals #61 player in the country. Sweet shot, smooth player. Got that "Lefty" thing going too, ala Jalen Rose.
Would be a perfect fit with the 2020 and 2021 classes to date. Hopefully, the balls ring true for the Maize n Blue...
I swear I look at that picture and see a left-handed Jordan Poole.
His style of play is also similar to Poole.
From what I am hearing , it's 99% Michigan, 1% DePaul
So we can expect poor shot selection, 40 foot 3 pointers early in the shot clock with a defender in his face, and a disregard for the team?
/s...sort of
or maybe the most iconic shot in recent memory for the program
A Kobe that looks like Fresh Prince Jr.? This guy’s gonna be a stud
smooth as silk shooter ... would be a great get
Yeah. I hope Christie looks forward to not developing for 3 years at MSU.
Great building out the foundation of a big class. I love getting a solid backstop of 3-4 year players to commit first and we can spend the rest of the year gunning for the big boys. Also, only 8 comments? I guess the Mgoblogaratti would rather flame each other in OT threads than talk about this class the JH is building up here.
Good point. Why asinine comments by DeSean Jackson are more interesting and relevant on this Michigan Sports Blog is beyond me...
Well, everyone knows this is the place for political commentary. There just aren’t other outlets to discuss politics out on the inter webs.
A large chunk of this blog doesn't seem to care about basketball recruiting for whatever reason
I wish we were talking about baseball college World Series like last year
Great news!
He is a must get after State’s day today. A good shooter we are sorely missing
I feel like Juwan is quickly picking things up and learning on the fly. He swung for the fences and went big last recruiting class and only ended up with 1 of the really big fish he was after. This year he is building this class with strong, likely multi year players. This is really going to allow him to push for the higher rated guys and ultimately be completely fine if they go elsewhere.
Really love where this program is going under Juwan. Preemptive welcome to the good guys Kobe!
It's a lock
Btw! I believe Steve Lorenz put a crystal ball pick for Rayshaun Benny to 〽️
