As someone mentioned yesterday (Don?)
This is a lose-lose game no matter what.
If we lose again, it will be worse for Michigan's rep than last time.
If we beat them close we are simply a mediocre team with no cred.
If we destroy them we are a bully that never should have scheduled such a petty game in the first place.
This is one of Brandon's WowFactor® games.
EDIT: I'm redundant, I type slow & I'm redundant.
It wasn't me, but I agree with all the points you made anyhow.
However, I would say that if the choice is between Appy St. or a MAC snacky-cake, there's probably more interest on the part of UM ticket-holders for Appy St. simply for the revenge factor. No one gives a damn about getting revenge on Toledo.
This is what you get when you schedule teams you have no business playing in the first place. I'm generally more favorably inclined to Bill Martin's tenure than many UM fans, but that decision was inexcusable.
There's no revenge, what happened won't go away.
But it is more interesting. I'm looking forward to App State more than I am Miami, OH, for example. In that sense it was a good scheduling move.
and call us out for being chicken! I think we are locked into that one...
If that's your criteria, then there is no such thing as revenge anywhere, any time, any situation. No act can alter what happened in the past.
Just tearing into Sparty and Notre Dame.
Steve Everitt speaks his mind. He's what we like to call a straight shooter.
"What's up with this Michigan State quarterback," Everitt said during a live radio segment at the MDen in Ann Arbor. "Oh, he had such a good record against Michigan and can 'walk on the streets?' He can walk on the streets? What does that mean? Like, every other Michigan State class for the last 80 years isn't allowed to leave their house? What is that guy talking about?
"It's ridiculous. Once every nine years, they scrape out some ridiculous extra-second (victory) or tackle a receiver in the end zone that doesn't get called, and it just happens. Once every 10 years, they get some cheese, and their players will talk trash, and I'll take heat for it."

I'm just proud to have the opportunity to donate to a worthy cause on a wonderful day like this! It makes me feel good!
