2011 recruit Demetrius Hart update from ESPN Insider
http://insider.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?name=Southeast_Recruiting
Synopsis for those without Insider:
-Demetrius is on the ESPN 150 watch list and was teammates with Ricardo Miller.
-We still lead on Demetrius.
-Miami and Florida State are going to be tough competition.
-He attended several Miami games this year. Miami is probably the team to beat after us.
-The Florida State connection is current teammate and Florida State commit Kenny Shaw.
If Hart commits, do we give him #20? At 5'8" 175 lbs, it'd be deja vu and oddly comforting...the obvious answer is no. But obvious leads to very little blog-related hilarity.
(Yes, Mike Hart had about 20 lbs on Demetrius, thanks for stashing your red pens fact-checker-Nazis).
Edit: Sorry, for the miss on Kenny Shaw, corrected...

Kenny Shaw committed to Florida State.
ESPN 150 Watch List is top 150 for every position. So it's kinda worthless.
"I have offers from Miami (Fla.), Florida, Florida State, Kentucky, Clemson, Michigan, Notre Dame, Stanford, Duke, Florida International and some others," Hart said.
I love this offer list. We need a superback in the 2011 class, and Hart will be our #1 target.

Thanks West Texas, I corrected the teams. He visited Miami several times so I'd still guess that's the team to beat judging by this article...hopefully we'll stay on top.

It's not top 150 for every position. There's only about 330 players on the list.

It would certainly be funny for him to wear #20, but he'd have to wait for his sophmore year since Shaw has it right now.
I really hope we get him, sounds like he's get the jets and skills to be a game changer.

At least I could wear my "I heart hart" shirt again if he commits. Now if we could just find another Zoltan...

Zoltan will always be in style.

and another LaMarr Woodley

I still wear my HART ATTACK shirt (with a "20" in the middle) all the time.

Already wears #20 - and I bet Hart has his own number, but you never know.
January 6th, 2010 at 12:11 PM ^
He won't in 2012, when Hart will be a redshirt freshman backing up RS junior All American Fitzgerald Toussaint and senior All American Vincent Smith.

Plus, Hart currently wear #3, which is available now, but may not be when he arrives.
January 6th, 2010 at 2:40 PM ^
Ricky Stanzi on the "All American" list too.

miami took three very good backs this recruiting cycle. florida state hasn't had a big time rb recruit the last couple of seasons.

Didn't see that coming.

Mike Hart was listed at 5'10" 175 according to rivals. just an FYI.
January 6th, 2010 at 1:08 PM ^
According to the Colts website, he's shrunk an inch and gained 30 since high school. I guess Woodley & Harris tackled him too many times in practice thus compacting him slightly.

Didn't Demetrius Hart say a while ago that he wasn't committing, but when he does he will commit to Michigan?
January 6th, 2010 at 1:17 PM ^
Originally he said he might commit when he visited, but then more recently Hart said he was going to take his time with things, and do more visits, etc.
