1,093 days, and counting… 🏈 Michigan Football >> osu

Friends, it has been 1,093 days since osu has defeated Michigan in football.

Michigan is back on top. And, in reality, we have never not been on top of ohio. This is literally true on a map, but also literally true in terms of our record against them.  Since the first time that we played them in 1897, we have always had a winning record against them. A few years ago, it seemed inevitable to most that they would catch with us in the critical head-to-head matchup.  But they haven’t, and we are pulling further ahead.

Michigan leads, 60–51–6

Hail to the Victors!

Its great to be a Michigan Wolverine!

Saturday, we can also pad our lead in Big Ten championships.  OSU had been creeping up during our title drought and got within two entering 2021, but we can make it a more comfortable four (44 to 40) with a win over Purdue.

Depends on your definition of "taken part".

On the rosters, probably quite a few. On the field? Not so many. Especially at Ohio, I'd imagine most of the 4-5 year guys are practice fodder.

I think part of the reason our manball philosophy works is because more of the guys on the field for us are grown-ass men instead of kids at a way-station to the pros a la Ohio.

These "x days since" lists seem kind of silly to me until I think about...

- every one of those 1,093 days having been a bit brighter

- all the hundreds of thousands of moments when I briefly recalled a play, a feeling, a moment from the game

- the 363(?) more days I have in front of me to relish this one!

Where are we at with “the most wins” “highest winning percentage”, etc. distinctions?  Lost track but thought we were leading in most wins but behind on winning percentage.

It really is a testament to the football tradition our 'forefathers' built that despite two DECADES of Buckeye dominance, we still hold a 9 game advantage over them, a school that has a pretty decent football tradition in its own right. Make no mistake; call it an inferiority complex, or some other mental issue, the Buckeyes will not take this lying down, or paved if you will. Day is only there as long as he beats Michigan.

Earl Bruce summed it up best, 'You don't beat Michigan - buddy - that's a problem'.
