You're not wrong, but they'd do the same thing for any Big Ten team that was a true title contender. So if Michigan ever got its shit together and lived up to expectations, then the conference would probably make exceptions like this on behalf of Michigan as well.

They don't inherently like OSU more. OSU is just the only one who can get the Big Ten anything worth a damn, in football, until anyone else proves otherwise.

Like he was going anywhere else and like the rule was ever going to be anything else.

Saban warned us what would happen,to be clear I support greater freedom for players but we’re definitely dealing with the rule of unintended consequences. Hopefully an 8 team playoff and NIL starts to dilute this boring, boring stranglehold.

The consequence of this rule change will be To'o predictable.  Poaching and tampering within the conference To'o pick off players during their career.

There is the right To'o move freely for whatever 'job' you want To'o do, but every sports franchise (MLB, NFL, NHL, NBA) has limits before "Free Agency" is allowed.  There needs to be some conditions here To'o.  Maybe if a players commits To'o a school, he needs To'o stay for a minimum of 2 or 3 years before transferring (unless there is a HC change).
