The Scene Of The Crime Comment Count

Brian

Two programming notes.

One: last year I made a jaunt out to New York to preview the team at an event at Metro 53. I predicted that McGuffie would be awesome, Michigan would make the Alamo Bowl, and no one should move to Kazakhstan for four months. For some reason, the NYC Alumni Club would like me to reprise this performance, and I feel I owe them, so it's on again.

Details:

  • Date:   Wednesday, August 19, 2009
  • Time:  7-9pm
  • Location:  Metro 53 - located at 307 E. 53rd (off 2nd Ave)

I promise I will be less wrong this year.

  • Two: The Sporting Blog will be carrying a USA-Mexico Cover It Live with yrs truly, Dan Levy, possibly Orson Swindle, and Grant Wahl's twitter feed. Coverage starts at around 3:45. I don't want to be lonely, so head on over.

Speaking of CILs, please PLEASE do not host CILs during football season. Wasn't it proven to be the cause of Michigan losses during basketball season?

I watched last November's OSU game at Metro 53. M fans there seemed in reasonably good spirits; resigned to 3-9 and a loss to Tressel's minions. The mood was more like "Whatever. This too shall pass."

Not a single cry of "Brian promised us the Alamo Bowl!"

    No torches or pitchforks.

    Have a great time.

NYC and cincy this past week, NYC and NJ next week. If I'm not driving back into the city from NJ at that time, I'll be there. Is there a train that goes from around 42nd and 8th to that part of town? That's a long walk and I'd rather not cab it.
