Michael Barrett makes multiple appearances [Bryan Fuller]

One Frame At A Time: Minnesota Comment Count

It's been nearly two full days and I still cannot get over the redirection and closing speed of Michael Barrett on this play.

All the good feels for Donovan Jeter, one who stayed, and now has started and scored.

[Much more from the game, including more Barrett, after THE JUMP]

The Top Ten

10. The De'Veon Smith BYU Play

Note to Jordan Brand: make crappier undershirts.

9. Sainristil Toe Tippin'

This went largely overlooked while we all admired the laser throw from Joe Milton.

8. Tip Drill

I choose to believe Milton anticipated the deflection and adjusted accordingly.

7. Ben Mason's Wild Ride

I know this ruined Michigan's first drive but have you considered: lol.

6. Upchuck Up-Man

This happened right after Barrett puked all over the field. Gross! Awesome! Grawesome! Anyway, great blocks by Zach Charbonnet (with a bonus dodge of the squib) and Mike Sainristil.

5. Turf Monster

Ronnie Bell's end zone curse may be a thing again.

4. One-Track Touchdown

Damn near stayed on a perfectly straight line.

3. Air Murderface

That's why he does all the squats. We also have not one but two pylon cam angles. There are some benefits to a long, stupid review.

2. The Falsest Start

Shoutout to the multiple defenders who helpfully pointed this out to the officials.

FRAMES OF THE GAME: YEAH JEETS

What a got-dang hit.

The frame rate (I assume that's the term) of GIFs makes the ball fluttering up after Barrett's hit even more comical. It almost looks like stop-motion animation. It also makes Haskins' run even more teleport-y.

Haven't re-watched the game yet, but aside from Barrett's cartoon-y hit, Jeter is exceptionally violent with the center on that play which I liked to see. However, was I the only one who was surprised by just how fast and athletic Jeter seemed running the ball in? He didn't really look out of place taking that into the end zone.

Let's not underrate Charbonnet's presence of mind to hop over the bouncing spheroid before his devastating block that opened the lane for Barrett.

This team is showing some solid football IQ.

Although the Barrett hit was glorious, and one of the best moments of the game for me, I had to vote for The Falsest Start.  1 minute left in a blowout, and that poor guy is giving 110%.  He doesn't realize it until, what?  8 yards deep and a stutter step?  A+ for effort, 0 for execution.

One of my favorite moments of the game was Josh Ross' interception. I love a LB who shows you how much film he studies with his play, and man when he anticipated that crossing route behind him, stopped on a dime and picked that ball off, it was a thing of beauty.

Even better, was hearing the defense go HAAM during the return. I'm pretty sure someone wasn't blocking at all and was just screaming WOOOOOOOOO! at the top of their lungs the whole time.

Best part of no fans is the stuff that gets picked up by the mic because the stadium is silent.

On Haskins' long run, the safety (#27) coming down to try to make the tackle does one of the most literal interpretations of grasping at air I've ever seen.

I'm glad the biggest vote-getter is JEETS. I'm also glad the personal—& obvious & detrimental—foul didn't get as many as I feared. I'm also also glad we have a chance to vote for a positive Bench play.

Our running backs are as fast or faster than Minnie's db's. Charbonnet outran the whole secondary on his TD run, and it took 45 yards for a db to catch Haskins. He's pretty dang fast.
