One Frame At A Time: Citrus Bowl Comment Count

Ace

Jim Harbaugh saved his best for last.

After a Florida defender committed an obvious facemask on Amara Darboh, Harbaugh sprinted down the sideline screaming for a call, gesticulating the whole way.

You may note a brave player—by the arm sleeve, I believe it's Jabrill Peppers—tried to get Harbaugh's attention when he reached the offical. Harbaugh, too deep into rage mode to notice, proceeded to scream "HEY, THEN CALL IT. YOU CALLED IT? YOU CALLED IT? WELL, OKAY."

Sealing this as my favorite Harbaugh GIF of the year is the scoreboard chyron showing that a flag was down the whole time.

HONORABLE MENTION

Chesson hitch and YAC.
Chesson post.
Harbaugh stomping mad.
Harbaugh errant spittle.
Harbaugh cringe.
Johnson outside zone cutback.
Johnson TD pitch with Kerridge and Cole leading the way.
Johnson TD and heel click.
Kenny Allen tackles Vernon Hargreaves.
WTF, ESPN.
Worst fake field goal ever.
Worst fake punt ever.
Channing Stribling diving PBU.
Insane Graham Glasgow blitz pickup.
Smith backside cut.
Smith run with great blocks from Mags and Houma.
Jones/Johnson handshake and dab.
Henry destroys center.
Grant Perry touchdown.
Butt first down signal.
Wormley sack.
Houma juke.
Lewis PBU.
The Kingdom.

15. Tongan Terror Touchdown

Houma definitely earned a spot. I could've gone with his juke on Caleb Brantley, but I loved the raw emotion after his touchdown, which completed the troika for The Kingdom.

14. Dad Big Air High Five

Peak dad celebration.

13. Harbaugh Freakout (Not That Harbaugh Freakout)

Also good.

12. Brian Cole Is On TV

Hello, Brian.

11. Treonooooooo

Michigan's quarterback play was juuuuuuuust a bit better than Florida's.

10. Jehu, Destroyer Of Holds

Not bad for his second-best catch of the day.

9. Totally Unnecessary But Nevertheless Impressive Frontflip

That's one way to avoid a late hit penalty.

8. Heel Click

This is a great touchdown celebration that I hope nobody else steals and runs into the ground. Let it be Drake Johnson's thing, please.

7. Ref Doink

Can't say the official wasn't doing his job here; he's so locked into the play he doesn't notice the ball is on a laser-guided path to his neck.

6. Confetti!

Even dads have their moments of child-like wonderment.

5. De'Veon Smith 2.0

Upgrades to vision and cutting brought to you by Wheatley Technologies, a Harbaugh Corporation.

4. Didn't Count, Doesn't Matter

Unsolicited advice for next year's QB: when in doubt, throw it high.

3. In The Face

He took it well, at least.

2. Hitch And Gone

To clear up a misconception, the coach celebrating while the ball is still in the air is not Jim Harbaugh, though that part is great regardless. Another angle that captures the "oh shiiiiii" moment for Vernon Hargreaves:

FRAMES OF THE GAME: FACEMASK RAGE

got burned, true.  But what the hell was the Florida safety on that side doing?   Either he screwed up big or Florida was really dumb to leaves Hargraves 1v1 in that spot and Hargraves biffed it.

The safety was most likely doing his job.  Either Hargreaves (sp?) bit on Chesson's move thinking he had a pick and got RPS-ed by Fisch (just like the Indiana OT TD), or he thought he had safety help so he jumped the hitch, thinking the flag route was covered.

Personally, I think #2 is less likely.  CB had inside leverage so, what, the safety has OUTSIDE leverage?  In the middle of the field?  Even if he has the athleticism to get there, why have the CB and safety swap leverage on a receiver?  I don't think they were trying to be clever.  No, Hargreaves just freelanced and got burned, though it may be due to something he saw on tape -- I think that might be only the second hitch-and-go run all year.

Love the Harbaugh passion. Again, others will say it is childish, but if I'm one of those kids, and see my coach with that passion, it would pump me up. He's fighting right beside me. Love it!

Harbaugh Stomping mad - I was stomping mad as well that somehow, the ref that was RIGHT THERE didn't see the guy club Rudock with his forearm right in the face. Dude should have been ejected.

I'd bet that was Peppers trying to grab Harbaugh. He was all over the sidlines, having a blast. He just about got more camera time than if he'd actually played in the game. At one point, he grabbed a water bottle and sprinted out to the team during a time out. How can you not love a star player who's that grounded? Hope his Jersey boys will be the same way.

...happy on New Year's Day... these GIFs should be bronzed for eternity.

It felt like a decade of 'Michigan football worry' had been washed away by Harbaugh & crew.

My month long séance at the Shrine of Ufer was rewarded in spades.

While I voted for Facemask Rage, I couldn't help but absolutely be mezmorized by "Heel Click".

I must have watched it about 10 times.

I hope we get more 'Heel Click' in 2016 ~ Drake was so great to do that...

Just like when Denard starting 'eating from a bowl' (we're hungry) ~ NFL'ers and other programs started copying it, you watch - next year everyone will be 'Heel Clicking' and it started with our own Drake J at Michigan.  Trend setter U.

Harbaugh and Michigan were awesome on Jan 1st ~ thank you for making my New Years Day so happy.
