OFAAT: Seniors, Iowa Past Comment Count

Ace

Brian has already waxed poetic about the seniors, so I'll stick to moving pictures and keep the words to a minimum. I've done my best to cover each member of the outgoing class. Let's just say it was hard to pick one moment for this guy:

He may make some cameo appearances later.

[For the rest of the gifs, hit THE JUMP.]

Remember to click the stills to open each gif in a lightbox; the following seniors listed in alphabetical order for lack of a better way to do this.

Ricky Barnum:

Impressive blitz recognition, picks off Denicos Allen.

Will Campbell:

Oof. Poor Max Shortell.

Kenny Demens:

Forward progress stopped, emphatically.

J.T. Floyd:

Floyd shuts down A.J. Jenkins. Tony Gibson minus all of the points.

Brandin Hawthorne:

There is an "i demand brandin hawthorne be used as a nickel wlb" tag on this blog.

Jack Kennedy:

JDK, please help land McQuay.

Mike Kwiatkowski:

Kawaan Short will never again make the mistake of calling Kwiatkowski a walk-on.

Jordan Kovacs:

Hits Alex Carder so hard Graham Couch breaks a rib.

Elliott Mealer:

Sometimes it's about so much more than football.

Patrick Omameh:

Omameh For Heisman.

Craig Roh:

Blocking with a lone running back probably not a stellar idea.

Roy Roundtree:

Last week was nice. This was better.

Vincent Smith:

Also, fingerguns.

Okay fine bonus Denard Robinson gif:

Shoelaces flopping in the wind.

Guys like Denard, Kovacs, Roh, and Roundtree will always stand out to me as players who stuck with Michigan and provided much-needed leadership and continuity through some hard times, including the coaching transition.  I will always appreciate them.

...Ace great work!  It's fun to see the careers of these guys boiled down to a single snapshot.  This piece will always be a great way to quickly look back and refresh myself on the essence of each of these seniors.

What would also be cool?  Put these side-by-side with Brian's Haikus.  Or even make gifs of the moment referred to in Brian's haikus.

I consider myself extremely fortunate to have been able to see so many of these great plays live and in-person, even though the gtaduating seniors started the year after I completed undergrad. Looking forward to seeing them one last time tomorrow in the Big House. Go Blue!

It's amazing what these seniors had to go through over the last 4 years.  I'm happy we have video of all of them so one day I can come back through and relive the moments and what each player brought to Michigan Football.

As a fan I'm very proud of them. They should also be proud for themselves.

I hope Michigan Stadium is full and loud and see's them off properly on Saturday.

I'm going to miss Denard Robinson a lot.  I'll be watching his future career with great interest.

I know it's often unpopular to say, but I can't look at that first Denard run and honestly think that he has probably lost half a step. Now that being said, he wouldn't be even close to as good at running inside or withstanding all the hits he has taken if he was still the size he was as a freshman, so that half step lost is probably for a greater benefit of bulking up, but damn did he burst through any day light in that video.

Great memory. I still specifically remember the feeling of "everything is going to be alright and wonderful again someday" when he made that run.

I love that Omameh/Denard one, but they're all good - except Barnum's which is pretty meh.

Not sure if this unpopular or what, but I for one would prefer that all the gif's loaded up at once.  Clicking on each and waiting is annoying.
