Myles Rowser Decommits From 2022 Class Comment Count

Michigan lost one of its two commits for the 2022 class last night when four-star IMG Academy safety Myles Rowser decided to reopen his recruitment. Rowser, who transferred to IMG from Belleville for this upcoming season, told Rivals's Josh Helmholdt that there's still the potential to come back home:

“I have fully opened my recruitment, but I am still very interested in Michigan,” Rowser explained. “Nothing really changed. I still love the coaches there, I love how they run the defense. My brother is at Michigan now, so he can tell me more stuff about Michigan and it just boosted my interest.”

As Rowser mentions above, his older brother—incoming freshman corner Andre Seldon—will be in the program, which should remain a point in Michigan's favor. Michigan State and Georgia Tech have offered since his commitment and Rowser mentioned interest in visiting Atlanta to Helmholdt. With the level of exposure at IMG, he's likely to add more offers, and that may have played into his decision to open things up.

Michigan does appear to have a legitimate shot to eventually bring Rowser back into the fold, though re-commitments are relatively rare. The coaches aren't sitting back and waiting, however, as they offered four-star FL safety Azareyeh Thomas yesterday, according to TMI's Brice Marich.

Four-star jumbo athlete Alex VanSumeren, younger brother of Michigan back Ben VanSumeren, is now the only commit in Michigan's 2022 class.

There's no content after the jump.

What's going to happen is that I'll patiently suffer this stuff for another 40 years, and when Michigan is finally on the cusp of the playoffs, COVID-59 takes me.

I was in my teens when we beat Ohio State regularly and had any chance at a title. I’m rounding the bases and closing in on 40. If we end up in another coaching search after this season or next, it’ll probably be another 3-5 year’s before we have a shot at contending, it feels like I’ll be eyeing that Senior discount at Denny’s before we are experiencing the kinds of glory of last century.

I'm a bit further down the track than you Yostie - I was at the great win over the cretin Woody & his "unbeatable" '69 team, for example.

In my childhood, teens, young adulthood, into the approach of middle age - Michigan & osu battled fairly evenly, with Michigan certainly holding the upper edge in the 80s-90s.

But I have to confess, I cannot at this time envision any set of circumstances that will bring the series back into balance. I used to blame that they have ohio to themselves in Power 5, vs M sharing its less talent rich state.

But now osu hardly even relies on ohio, getting talent from every area, to the extent Dabo & Saban will be calling for them to be prohibited from the south soon!

And Michigan doesn't even get the best of Day's leftovers now - nd, psu, even Kentucky are scooping up better ohio kids than Harbaugh.

So I'm genuinely at a loss. I'm not a "Fire Harbaugh" card carrier  mainly because I can't think of any other coach that could close the gap anymore (aside from maybe Urbz - what a bitter pill! ?)

Love to hear anyone with a concrete, feasible idea what Michigan can do to get back in this rivalry. And the many iterations of Maizen can bitch all they want, they don't have any idea either!
