Henning is another Speed In Space slot receiver, ranked 80th on the composite. 24/7 doesn't have a separate category for slots but as a rough approximation only four guys ranked ahead of him are listed at under six feet tall.
Henning is Michigan's Nth commitment in the last week, following those from NJ S Jordan Morant, CO OL Reece Attebery, CA OL Jeffrey Persi, NJ DE Aaron Lewis, NY LB William Mohan, and MA WR Eamonn Dennis. PA RB Gaige Garcia is coming in as a wrestling/football dual sport guy as well. That makes for 8 of the 10 commits Matt Dudek has posted about. MD RB Blake Corum, who is set to announce tomorrow, is almost certainly one of the two remaining. The last guy is a bit of a mystery.
Welcome AJ! I hope you kill it here.
Remove "hope" from your lexicon!
He WILL kill it at Michigan!!!
Go Blue!
Welcome AJ, way to GoBlue!
Do we want? HAIL YES!
Any speculations who the 10th guy is?
I would guess we are a 'take' for DJ Jones and Corum with no Evans this year, our RB room is pretty thin...
Evans actually may be back in 2020, which is the class we're talking about.
Thanks and good point Dan, I'm guessing he's a strong possibility to enter the transfer portal by then... He seems like a Michigan man from his intangibles, but it's hard to tell what kids feel is best for their future these days...
That seems like it has no basis. Unless you know something for real you want to share with the class.
If Evans was going to transfer, I doubt he would even have appealed and would be trying to get in the good graces and spend a year at UM not playing instead of just spending that year off with his new future team practicing and learning the playbook.
I think Evans is now a HS coach in Ann Arbor somewhere.
Jones just committed to UNC a couple of minutes ago.
Definitely Andrew Raym.
In all seriousness, I would guess Kalel Mullings.
My guess as well
Kalel Mullings would be a super get!
I see what you did there.
I believe he's still mulling over his decision................
.............i'll see myself out.
Milton Academy is no Noble & Greenough.
Some of the other prospects to receive Michigan crystal balls on Sunday were Kalel Mullings (4 star OLB Comp#107) and Makari Paige (4 star S Comp#222). Both of them received a burst of crystal balls in favor of the good guys.
Where is this narrative coming from? I've seen it a few times already. Paige got one Crystal Ball this weekend on his official visit to OSU and it was Wiltfong going from Michigan to cloudy. He's trending away from Michigan with Morant on board and Malcolm Greene and RJ Moten having Michigan in their top group.
I was looking through the crystal balls on Sunday during some down time at work and Wiltfong made a bunch all at once. Makari Paige was one of them and I could have sworn it featured a big maize M next to his name. Unfortunately his predictions are now pay-walled.
You're not wrong. He either put in a ball to Michigan to Paige and changed it or it was entered incorrectly and then changed.
Is #10 "The Gift"??!!
Nice that Jeremy Gallon could just change his name to AJ Henning and get four more years of eligibility.
Gallon but faster
I'd take 5 Jeremy Gallon's a year in a heartbeat.
Henning is a bit bigger through and faster, no?
At least we won't have to throw jump balls to 5'8" rocket boot guys anymore.
Henning is listed at 5'9.5", which means he's similarly sized to Gallon. He probably has a little better top end speed (his 40 time is better), but I don't consider Henning a pure burner off of his film. He is very, very similar to Gallon I think (which isn't a bad thing).
I hope he has Gallon's leaping ability and timing also. It was amazing how Gallon would beat out taller defensive backs all the time.
I loved watching Gallon embarrass corners on the edge, but ideally I would have liked him to line up at slot and out run everyone on crossing route. His catch at the end of ND 2011 to set up Michigan at the 15 was perfect
I saw Gallon playing catch with a bunch of random kids after one of the games one year while he was on the team but I believe before UTL. Super cool guy to play with a bunch of fans/kids. He was like 5'7 max. I'm 5' 8 5/8" and I had a good couple of inches on him. (You know if someone is listing their height to the eighth of an inch they notice how tall people are.)
Why not compare to Desmond Howard instead of Gallon at this stage in high school.
LFG! Speed in space! Keep helping reel em in JJ. He and Sainristil on the field together will be a problem for defenses the next few years. Let’s hope the JJ to AJ connection becomes becomes a legendary one at UM. Go Blue!
I wouldn't mind seeing our unique blend of the fullbacks and tight ends being featured as well, hopefully they bring a separate wrinkle to the offense!
Unfortunately I think it’ll be too much to ask for him to come back for his senior year. If he even has a decent year, he gone. He’s too much of a physical freak and will test so well at the combine he won’t go lower than the first 3 rounds even if he only finishes the year with like 40 catches.
DPJ, if he does stick around after this year, will be a senior next year. JJ McCarthy doesn't graduate high school until after DPJ's senior year.
We look like idiots now because he changed his comment. I didn’t know you could do that once someone replied. And yet...you still can’t edit your post if you start the thread??♂️
Yeah I noticed that right after I posted. :P
Sorry, I realized my mistake just after posting too and tried to edit so I wouldn't be the idiot as well. Clearly, I still am. Also, a 'Delete Post' button would also fix the issue, but we can't have nice things.
Maybe Jay Brunelle is number 10.
Seems Jay is going to commit to ND in the near future.
Yes, yes he did.
This kid has the “it” factor that can’t be taught. His effort is natural
Nice. Welcome AJ.
Pretty cool that JJ McCarthy is helping to get guys in the class ahead of him. Maybe he can time travel and change up our 2013 O-line class.
excited for this kid...
really looking forward to see what Gattis' offense is like
AJ changed the banner on his twitter account this last week to him in #3 Mich uni. While certainly a great piece of news officially, anyone who didn't already know this was a done deal isn't really paying attention. Throw in the fact that all the heavy hitters in the UMich recruiting trail already had a CB for him, or put one in this last weekend, made this all but official already. Still great to hear, and this kid is the definition of quick twitch. Slippery and quick cut elusive, and fast as ... Denard 2.0 but playing slot?
I'll take Raym or Johnson as the 10th commit...both will likely play on Sunday.
Kalel Mullings is my guess
Who is Johnson?
Theo...big-time TE from Windsor...great kid...great body/size.
Nobody can say Gattis didn’t get his tools.
JJ to AJ has a nice ring to it. Welcome aboard.
