Denard Robinson Finalist for Tribune Silver Football Award
Denard is one of the 3 finalists for the Chicago Tribune Silver Football award. Other two are Ryan Kerrigan featured below and Terelle Pryor of the hated tOSU *uckeyes.
Good Luck Denard. Award to be announced on Friday.

be in great shape vs those two.

I really don't know anything about Kerrigan, the article makes him sound like a good guy though. I would just hate to see somebody that's as arrogant and egotistical as Terelle Pryor win anything over someone like Denard. Don't even have to go to the stats to decide this one.

Didn't you watch the Purdue game? Kerrigan was the guy who set up a lemonade stand in the Michigan backfield.
December 7th, 2010 at 7:13 PM ^
No I know that he's a very good football player, and obviously the worst part about playing Purdue. I'm just saying I haven't heard him saying that "everyone murders" or that other stupid stuff Pryor was saying after the Wisconsin/OSU game.
He's a beast but for all I know he could be a douche or the nicest guy in the world. Just saying I hope a good guy has a chance, especially over an obvious douche like Pryor.

that was a MIkes hard lemonade stand.

Kerrigan is a beast and I've seen interviews of him on Big Ten Network and seems like an outstanding individual. I would love to see Denard win anything, but losing to him won't be a 1000 bee stings in my eye as Pryor would.

Michigan's offensive line gave up 11 sacks this past season. Kerrigan had 4 of them.
He has me impressed.

Ryan Kerrigan : Purdue 2010 : : Brandon Graham : Michigan 2009
Absolute stud and guaranteed NFL 1st rounder on an otherwise miserable defense.
Honestly, I would argue that the award should be split this year, offense - Denard, defense - Kerrigan.

Absolutely. Dude is straight dirt on the field

Dirt is ... good?

"1000 bee stings in my eye"
I just sprayed red bull all over the place when I read that.

In all seriousness, I think he has a really good shot at winning it. He was almost definitely the most important player to his team in the conference. It'd be nice to have two straight winners. That'd be pretty impressive, considering how rough the past few years have been. Just goes to show that things are on the upswing. Could we see another QB/DE winning combo this year? I could definitely see it happening.

It would be cool to see Denard win this, since Brandon Graham shared the award with Darryl Clark last year. I think the last back-to-back winners Michigan had were Chris Perry and Braylon Edwards.
December 7th, 2010 at 6:11 PM ^
Brandon Graham was a great defensive end on a poor defense. Ryan Kerrigan is a great defensive end on a poor defense. Daryll Clark was a solid quarterback. Denard Robinson is a solid quarterback. It's only logical that there should be a split award again.

I'm trying real hard not to be a homer, but I still don't think Denard can be summed up with the description "solid quarterback".
December 7th, 2010 at 8:18 PM ^
There. Fixed.
December 7th, 2010 at 9:41 PM ^
I couldn't find an adjective to describe Daryll Clark that would also fit Denard Robinson, so I just copted out and used "solid". Clark is nowhere near as explosive as Robinson, but he's good.

I agree with your overall point, but I guess I felt like being a stick in the mud. So there!

Pugh's going to chop block the shit out of everyone if he doesn't win the award.

ROBINSON!

.......Denard, I wouldn't be too upset. Kerrigan is going to make some NFL DC a happy man.
If Denard and Kerrigan somehow lose to Pryor, then we can write off another award as being a joke. Denard has a 1000 more rushing yards along with 10 more rushing TDs than Pryor. He's also got a 30 to 29 lead in total TDs responsible for. As for Kerrigan, he has 12.5 sacks(second behind only Bowers from Clemson), leads the nation in tackles for loss at 26, and 5 forced fumbles(tied for second nationally). How he didn't get nominated for any national awards is beyond me.
Good luck to Denard and Kerrigan both. Pryor can go f*** himself!
