Tom--Hart and Frost at Auburn?
Tom,
When you provide your weekly post-game recruiting update, any chance you could provide info regarding the Hart/Frost trip to Auburn? Frost was there too, right?
That game ending was way too exciting for me considering Michigan's stake in that trip. I hope Hart was already discussing Michigan's 2011 night game v. ND with Frost. In fact, maybe having both Hart and Frost at AU this weekend could have helped Michigan's chances with Kris, as we have been hearing that Demetrius has been doing UM recruiting on his own. But then there's that 5% chance that Hart was so blown away that he decided to... well, lets not even think that.
Look forward to the update...
But man, why couldn't Parker hit that 3rd down TD pass in OT.

Dear Tom,
When you give the update I would like if you would bring me a pony. I always wanted one and since your doing this for the OP, I figured you were taking requests.

This board can be brutal.. Sarcasm for everthing? The post seems like a reasonable question.

It's just that you finally got your 20 points so you could create a thread and what did you do? Ask TomVH if he could do you a favor. The man will have info on it at some point in the week with or without your request.

I'm not hostile to the advice. Perhaps asking Tom about my recruiting questions was not the best thing. Going forward, I'll address my recruiting questions to the board instead. But I did feel that this was a fairly crucial recruiting weekend where potentially our top 2 targets were in the same stadium watching an OT thriller. I understand the point though.

Sorry for being a dick. It's not your post but the 500 others before you. Hang around and view some of the better threads around here to get a better idea of how to post a thread. Your question is a valid one though and many of us are hoping the visit didn't go well. I am sure we will know in time.

I wouldn't ask the board either. If there is anyone who has info, it will be posted. You don't have to ask, and you'll probably just annoy people. FYI only, not trying to be a douche.

Hilarious. Good post.
September 19th, 2010 at 11:40 AM ^
I figure, since you're asking, might as well be specific.
And, thanks, Tom. Me, too, please; and make mine a palomino. I've always kinda liked those.

Dear Dennis,
Why must you be such a dick? He's obviously a new poster and would probably benefit from your criticism which would allow him to learn a little board etiquette, but why does everyone feel they need to jump someones shit every time they post something that doesn't fit into our neat little rules.
Give the guy a break, based on his responses to you he seems like he wants to contribute positively to the board.
September 19th, 2010 at 12:43 PM ^
Well because I kind of am a dick but with a conscious. Your right though, based on his responses the OP is definitely well intended.

I don't know if Dee and Kris were looking at it like this, but it was pretty clear to me, watching from my living room, that Clemson was vastly more talented than Auburn. Auburn won off of a lack of execution and stupid mistakes by Clemson, and really rarely looked that impressive. Even their big TD pass from Newton-Zachery was because of a blown coverage and a prayer throw from Newton. IMO, Auburn looked pretty dumpy last night. It's my hope that Dee noticed Auburn's little starting freshman running back.

where recruits go to, but the vast difference between our game and Auburn's game certainly can't be a help to us with regard to Hart or any other recruit visiting Auburn last night.

Thats not what NCAA 11 says!

Bad form BAD FORM!
Guys, TomVH is basically the single greatest Michigan recruitnik in the country. Lets give him some time, as I'm sure with his own site keeping track of all the offers/changes in stuff is slightly daunting. Not to mention, I'm guessing hes up from about midnight to midnight on Saturdays, so relax. Finally, recruits aren't even done visiting yet, so final impressions can't be taken.
But a tid bit from twitter:
TomVH: No commitment today from Chicago OL Chris Bryant, but he said, "I'm really liking what I've seen."
September 19th, 2010 at 10:56 AM ^
The OP's 1st sentence was, "When you provide your weekly post-game recruiting update..." not "GIVE IT TO ME NOW!" It seemed like a reasonable request (and something we'd all like to know) and Tom probably was going to give it to us anyway.
September 19th, 2010 at 10:59 AM ^
So what was the point of the post if "Tom was probably going to give it to us anyway".
I believe in TomVH, and so should you... theres literally a 0% chance that if Tom has info on Dee or Frost that he wont post it.
September 19th, 2010 at 11:29 AM ^
At least some positive from today that Chris liked what he saw. Thanks for the update and no sarcasm.
September 19th, 2010 at 11:08 AM ^
Classic? The guy's obviously new to the site, maybe give him a break? Btw, Tom's weekly updated started with "A few people have requested a look at some names recruiting wise that could potentially be affected by Michigan's record this year." I'm sure the way Tom does his business on here has been shaped by the feedback from posters the past couple years. While the OP's request may have seen unnecessary to some, it doesn't seem worth it to jump all over him for it.

I doubt last night's game will have any effect on where Hart signs, since all signs point to UM being in the driver's seat. Sure, that was an exciting finish to the game, but if RR and UM just keep winning, UM will be in good shape. Being roughed up by a middling ACC team at home doesn't strike me as a major selling point to recruits, especially since about 1/3 of the stadium seemed to be rooting for Clemson.

The way the fans go after each other on our own boards is insane! If the Michigan players did the same to their own teammates this season would be over before it started, no coach could help us and we could all be Sparty fans....c'mon guys....even if someone did make a mistake you don't have to go for the "kill shot" just because it is open....If we all like the same team let's at least have some courtesy....

Stupid, juvenile nicknames
Most relevant to Michigan fans is the infamous "scUM," but this idiocy affects many fan bases. Any "State" school is liable to find a dollar sign replacing the S in their abbreviation. In a rush to damn the NCAA people will completely disregard the fact that "NCAA" doesn't have any S's in it and go ahead and make the same swap anyway. Penn State gets called "State Penn" whenever a player gets drunk and frisky. Morons spell out "University of Spoiled Children" over and over again to display their disdain for USC.EXAMPLE
"scUM and the University of Spoiled Children are playing in the Ro$e Bowl because the NC$$ needs the money."DIAGNOSIS
