John Blake resigns from NC
Blake is one of the top recruiters in the nation, this must mean he has some blood on his hands involving some of NC's problems. It's a free for all on NC recruits.

...it took this long for him to "resign".
Three sources close to an NCAA probe into the University of North Carolina football program told Yahoo! Sports that investigators are focusing on ties between assistant coach John Blake and prominent NFL agent Gary Wichard.
The sources said the NCAA’s inquiry into Blake has focused on his one-time position as vice president of football operations for Pro Tect Management – an agency founded and run by Wichard since 1979. Blake is now a defensive line coach for the Tar Heels, and oversees All-ACC tackle Marvin Austin, who is also facing NCAA scrutiny.

Is this the Blake who was the head coach at OU right before Stoops? Always heard he was an awesome recruiter and I figure he must have reeled in some talent considering Stoops was able to win a national title in year 2.

According to Wikipedia, at least.

The same guy...he reeled in some top flight talent. No idea if he was a terrible coach or just not given enough time. He's one of the those guys like Orgeron at USC who has always been able to pull in talent, always had "dirty" swirl around him, was given a head coach chance, bombed, then resurfaced and pulled talent right back in again.

...all accounts, he's as crooked as a dog's hind leg.

been as heinous as practicing for a few extra minutes. The #$%^%$^ NCAA should send DB a note apologizing for taking up his time. They have far more serious fish to fry.

considering that so many of them may well be tainted by all this.
Excuse me, I should have written, "No coach in his right mind outside of the ACC and SEC would go after UNC recruits"

I suspect the latest USC regime would have no trouble joining in the poaching festivities.

It's nice to see that this case of rampant corruption in player recruitment is receiving the same level of coverage that approximately 100 hours of extra stretching over 2 years warranted. Way to go NCAA/ESPN/MSM!

...I'm looking at you Ed Orgeron...clock's ticking down

The article said that Blake is getting paid the amount he would have gotten if he had coached the entire season. That smells a lot more like a negotiated agreement than a voluntary resignation.
