BHGP's Michigan Preview
Black Heart Gold Pants previews Michigan here. Here's a sample.
What's the one thing you should know about Michigan? Besides the fact that God made them jerkoffs? Nothing, really. That about covers it.
What should we expect when Michigan has the ball? Rich Rodriguez was brought to Michigan with a mandate to update Michigan's offense and bring it into the 21st century. Or at least catch them up to those newfangled spread offenses at Indiana, Purdue, and just Northwestern. Still, regardless of the wisdom (or lack thereof) involved in changing a century of offensive tradition, what's done is done and the days of statuesque drop-back quarterbacks rifling passes to enormous, glue-handed receivers or handing off to huge, ground-churning running backs are done; bring on the speedy midgets.
Enjoy the rest of the read.
...and I agree with all of your points.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is a MICHIGAN fan site, right?
HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!! Wait a minute! You mean sometimes......fanatics might become a little subjective and defensive about "their" team? They might not back every word they type with 14references and a catalog of factual evidence? Fuck me.....I want my money back.
(Insert me rolling my eyes).
but this is a new year so attitudes are subject to change. I can't remember being so eager for a season to start as this one; we're still at least one year away from the 'reloading' stage, imo, but we got some bullets in the chamber and I 'm ready to fire off some rounds.
Iowa: UM:
Adam Robinson 5-9 205 Mike Cox 6-0 210
Brandon Wegher 5-11 206 S. Hopkins 6-0 236
Jewel Hampton 5-9 210 Vince Smith 5-6 169
Paki O'Mera 5-11 210 Mike Shaw 6-1 181
Brad Rogers 5-10 215 F.Toussaint 5-10 199
Marcus Coker 6-0 230 Austin White 6-0 196
All info was taken from both Universities offical sites. I'll accept the speed portion but not the midget. Also to Iowa's D, have fun with UM's S.M. Vincent Smith if he healthy this season the S.M. comment might come back to haunt you.
Back to you...Fuckers.
Also, all those guys beat you last year.
Snark aside, that may have been the most reasonable preview I've seen from a non-Michigan site. I didn't see any glaring errors (although they still have time to screw up the defensive preview).
I think the reference to "a century of offensive tradition" was a deliberate exaggeration. UM had running QBs a long time ago, but as a rule of thumb anything that happened before most current players were born is ancient history and basically irrelevant.
