Michigan makes top lists for Lance Dixon, John Dunmore
Hollywood (FL) Chaminade-Madonna wide receiver John Dunmore named Michigan to his top 7. There was a story floating around that he tried committing to Michigan when he visited a couple months ago, or at least was very close to it, but FSU currently has the crystal ball lead with 69% of picks. He's the #18 WR and #107 overall and a teammate of cornerback commit Te'Cory Couch.

West Bloomfield (MI) West Bloomfield Viper prospect Lance Dixon named Michigan to his top 5. He's the #16 OLB and #252 overall. The crystal ball favors MSU (57%) with Michigan having a pick in there, too.
Dixon is probably the #1 guy at Viper. The coaches are also going after Joey Velazquez, the OSU baseball commit who's visiting in mid-June, but Dixon is higher on the board.
"The coaches need to show that they can close the deal on an in-State kid at a position of high need."
DPJ says hi. Ambry, too. Should I list others?
Again, the OP specifically mentioned Metro Detroit and Tyrone Wheatley. People have named Donovan Peoples-Jones, Ambry Thomas, Jalen Mayfield, Ryan Hayes, and Aidan Hutchinson as counterpoints to the OP...and the only one that makes sense is Hutchinson. And even then, Hutchinson's not necessarily a great example of in-state recruiting, since his dad was an All-American legacy at Michigan.
There isn't one. Generally, the staff members are recruiting their own position groups within the state. Ryan Hayes (Greg Frey), Karsen Barnhart (Ed Warinner), etc.
Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt; everytime the locals get the feeling that the UofM fanbase is about to turn on the coach they start looking elsewhere real quick.
No state of Mi recruit wants to be the next Shane Morris.
