It will be interesting to see how the Playoff Committee considers Wisconsin when they are undefeated going into the B1G Championship. Their schedule;
Utah State, FAU, BYU, NW, Neb, Purdue, MD, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota. We will potentially be the closest thing to a signature win......

very surprised we are ranked . I would think we would be #30 or so . Must be some Michigan love out there.

We are ranked out of habit.

There goes Penn State's strength of schedule.
Whoo Hoo!
Suck it, Franklin.
October 22nd, 2017 at 2:39 PM ^
So we're down to celebrating being so bad that we wreck other team's strength of schedule? Wow.

In before "We don't deserve to be ranked"

were ranked higher than this. We probably would be if we beat Pennsylvania State.

Nothing impacts your ranking in a negative way more than losing.
October 22nd, 2017 at 2:27 PM ^
I thought I was alone on thinking that.
October 22nd, 2017 at 4:27 PM ^
did you also know that drinking bleach increases your chances of getting poisoned? These things I'm learning during the football season, man...
October 22nd, 2017 at 5:00 PM ^
If you go into it thinking you won't get poisoned, you won't. It's mind over matter.Unless your esophogus is young and unested, then you may be in trouble. An experienced digestive tract is favorable.

Seems like more of a courtesy nod than anything else. Based on our performance last night, we shouldn't be ranked. We should probably be in the 25-30 range.

enough votes to finish ahead of Memphis.

I am honestly kind of impressed that the Sports Information Director poll still has us ranked, but then this is the poll that always seemed to give teams a nod now and again. I assumed this morning we would fall out of the AP poll, although according to AP Poll Tracker, we did get three #25 votes against 58 writers who had us out of it.
October 22nd, 2017 at 2:22 PM ^
We're 27th in the AP Poll.
If we beat Rutgers, we'll probably be #23-25 next week just by virtue of teams losing and, if not, if we beat Rutgers AND Minnesota, we will 100% be ranked by the time we go to Maryland.
If Michigan wins their next three games, we're in the Top 20 heading to Madison. From there....we'll see.
October 22nd, 2017 at 2:27 PM ^
Agreed.
No reason not to be 8-2 going in to Madison and probably around #20 or so.
A couple home games that should be wins and opportunities to shore some things up on both sides of the ball, then a winnable road game before the two tough ones to end the season.

#25 Iowa State plays (loses) to TCU next week. #22 West Virginia has OK State. #23 LSU has a bye and then plays Bama the following week. We will 100% be back in the top 25 in two weeks, probably 75% we are back in next week.
October 22nd, 2017 at 4:43 PM ^
Not a good day for Michigan football when we rely on other teams losing to be in the top 25
October 22nd, 2017 at 2:20 PM ^
for 2018 / next year.... we have ND, MSU and OSU all on the road..
...not going to get any easier.

In 3 weeks we will be 8-2 and back inside the top 20. Rankings don't mean much the rest of the way, just want the young guys that will lead us to a title next year to improve, and the few seniors to impress the NFL scouts.
