OT: "Brah, we gotta go get a keg"
So the Sparty President blames Chippewas and others for riot chaos, released a statement to the media pinning all the blame on so called "Spartans for a day" (outsiders). Because Michigan State students don't mug people or go to jail or anything. They're model citizens and just ooze class. lol

"As we wish the Spartan basketball team the best in Indianapolis and hope they return with Michigan State University's third NCAA basketball championship, we reflect on a banner year for MSU and the city of East Lansing. Thanks to the hard work that has been happening on both sides of Grand River Avenue, we believe that the "town-gown" relationship that exists between city and university has never been stronger. In particular, we've been very proud of how Spartans this year have celebrated their successes with respect, as well as with enthusiasm. However, there are those we call "Spartans for a Day" who simply do not understand or respect how true Spartans celebrate. Many of them come to our community during the Final Four and get identified -- misidentified -- as part of this community. And their behaviors sometimes put at risk our hard-earned reputation. We salute the many MSU students -- authentic Spartans for a lifetime -- who have voluntarily used social media and other means to tell their friends and classmates how to have safe and responsible celebrations, as well as warn of the consequences if irresponsible behavior occurs. It's important to remember as we enter this Final Four weekend that true Spartans celebrate with class. So let's be generous hosts and friends, but take care to defend a reputation that has been generations in the making."
the nerds totally deserved it, too. So that's okay.
with MSU needs to stop.
U-M fans bringing up unrelated events because Sparty is having their moment in the sun - now that's class.
It was on my MSN homepage, I wasn't stalking the RCMB looking for a scoop.
Agree, but the line "so I was like brah, we gotta go get a keg" made me laugh (as pointed out by the post's title). The obsession with MSU won't stop until they become irrelevant again.
videos like this one make me proud that I don't go to MSU. there are very few schools i can say I am proud NOT to attend, but MSU is definitely one of them.
but it's like a fart - usually inappropriate but always funny.
Yup, all those hooligans in Cedar Village after B-ball games, or during Cedar Fest were non students. The real spartans were all safely tucked in their apartments, reading from the bible and drinking grape juice.
baking for a charity potluck the following day
wait...
taking cover in my man cave. Got any Spam recipes?
Is always better fried.
entendre. Excellent. Or am I the only one who got that.
Ironically, my user name has nothing to do with weed. The closest I've ever been to a joint was when I worked at a pizza place and walked into the back room where the delivery guys were hanging out.
"Spartans for a day"? Bullshit. Only alumni and current students are Spartan fans. They don't get bandwagon fans.
but maybe bandwagon rioters?
currently there is not a riot in East Lansing

Calling out the CMU students is pretty low.
My nephew went to CMU until this year. We went up for several of the more notable party weekends.
CMU students do know how to really blow out, but I have never seen the type of violent smashing/burning BS that MSU puts on.
As for exchanging students for parties, they sure do. I would bet 2 or 3k students go each way on the freeway on every nice or big weekend.
However, MSU is the one with issues here, and trying to shrug them off onto CMU is BS.
