Kiffin to be HC at FAU

Submitted by Bambi on
On mobile so no link but just got an ESPN notification. Mainly relevant because there were rumors FAU was targeting Drevno. Also interesting to see which/if any Alabama coaches Kiffin takes with him and how that impacts recruiting.

We keep Drevno so we keep continuity for our offensive. Drevno staying won't threaten our OL recruiting. Kiffin leaving may nudge Harris in our direction and we get to see the inevitable Lane meltdown in about 23 months. Good news all around.

Amazing that this is his fourth head coaching job at age 41, and the other three were all major positions (Oakland Raiders, Tennessee, USC).  It's nice to have connections.

is a  strange thing. He'd rather be the head guy at a bottom feeder of Conference USA than be in the hunt for national championships every year. I suppose he's learned he's not Saban's heir apparent.

Don't really want to post it in a new thread but in Lorenz most recent update it seems he talks about DPJ spending a lot of time with Harris during the visit and effectively recruiting for Michigan.

Have any of you ever actually met a dude named "Lane"? If so, what were they like? Just curious to know if it correlates with being a D-bag or if that's just my totally unfounded perception.

Good for Kiffin. Means we will keep our OC and maybe break up some of the Alabama connections. Bama is a recruiting machine so probably won't have much of an impact.
