Never heard of him. Thus concludes my analysis. Too early for the Friday drinking thread?

I think Brian's recruiting update said he was a Saginaw guy who transferred to the same CO high school as Dylan McCaffrey and would be a grayshirt, whatever that is.
December 5th, 2016 at 11:09 PM ^
that this is a preferred walk on situation.

Here's to hoping he's another St. Juste though!

Why does MICHIGAN need to be ALL CAPS?

Do you do it for all schools? TEXAS, FLORIDA, OHIO, NORTH CAROLINA, etc.

He is a teammate of McCaffery, but originally from Saginaw. Harbaugh loved the kid on his visit out west and offered him a greyshirt opportunity.

I'm guesing then the position is NOT at defensive end?
Because 6'4" and 200 lbs is closer to basketball stature than it is defensive end?
CB maybe?
December 5th, 2016 at 11:30 PM ^
There's a position "between" DE and CB
...I'll let you figure it out *wink wink*

ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ?
now there's no way i can be wrong

Might be as a TE, I'v seen him listed before as a DE/WR/TE. Good size/good athlete, could be a flyer as a PWO/Greyshirt, especially since it desnt appea UM is ging to a scholarship TE this class.
December 6th, 2016 at 8:37 AM ^
So we've guessed DE, CB, LB, WR, TE - this guy can do it all - he'll play "Peppers".

About Greg Skrepanek in the Ann Arbor news who was coming to Michigan to play football. Then I read Kent Graham was going to Notre Dame in the same article blurb. I didn't have the urge for more, I didn't. I simply put down the paper, took a breath of fresh air grabbed some Country Time lemonade and went downstairs to play Tecmo Bowl for 12 hours.

I read about Rumeal Robinson in the USA Today. I learned we got Desmond Howard When he was back deep to return his first kick. I found out Harbaugh committed to play QB when they mentioned it after he signed to be coach.

walkon because this is a guy you could get on signing day if it was an actual offer.

Seen Little Willie back in the summer, he's much bigger than 205 pounds now, when I saw him he looked a legit 240 ish maybe 250. The profile is really outdated. Colorado was good for him, happy he has a chance to at least come home and play or practice for Michigan
December 6th, 2016 at 8:24 AM ^
But you may, or may not want to phrase that a little differently next time.

has been looking at for a while. He camped there. The interesting this is Sean Scherer from the MSU board, who is usually a total MSU hack, immediately flipped his crystal ball from MSU to Michigan.
I'd have to guess a walk on though.

Go back and read his comment and become enlightened with the rest of us, Grasshopper.

Willie was at Saginaw AH until this year where he transfered to Valor Christian with McCaffery. AH has been a dumpster fire of MSU proportions the last 10 years and his dad wanted to give him a chance to be recruited and it worked. Good for him! Really talented kid who just got caught up in the suckness of a bad team.

I know what Allen Trieu said, but I would still be surprised if anything comes out of this as far as a guaranteed scholarship goes. We saw similar things with Jess Speight, Joe Gibbs's grandson, and others. They get reported as offers, but they're as preferred walk-ons or completely non-committable. I've been aware of Will Rogers for a few years since he was at Arthur Hill, and he's not on the same level as the guys we're generally recruiting under Harbaugh.

Jordan Kovacs started out as a walk-on and is one of my all-time favorite UM players with a great back story. Sure, I wish we had 12 of the top 100 recruits like OSU, but Michigan Football will always mostly be about the great stories behind the Maize and Blue Uniform and Winged Helmets for me. Not to mention, furture Kovakian stories will make beating the Bucknuts even sweeter. Welcome Mr. Rogers. I'm a big fan already...
December 6th, 2016 at 10:46 AM ^
He walked on during his second year on campus. His is a great story, wouldn't be so quick to compare to this.
December 6th, 2016 at 11:10 AM ^
Pretty sure I didn't compare anyone to Kovaks. I expressed my appreciation for all the great stories behind the men who wear the Maize and Blue. Perhaps Mr. Rogers will be another story of succeeding against the odds. If so, it will be fun to watch.
(BTW - Kovaks was not cleared medically to play as a Freshman. Regardless, I now feel officially welcomed to MGoBlog.)

Likely Prefered Walk On

Harbaugh and Fisch talked to Will Rodgers for longer than anyone else - including either of the McCaffreys.
