But . . . but . . . David Pollack says Michigan lacks dynamic offensive weapons.
This must be a typo.
November 7th, 2016 at 11:12 AM ^
B1G OPOW is the least dynamic award an offensive player can receive. BIG TEHN!
Seriously though this was an easy choice. He had an amazing game.
November 7th, 2016 at 11:12 AM ^
If only we had someone dynamic like Jake Butt, Jehu Chesson, Amara Darboh, Chris Evans, De'Veon Smith, McDoom, or an all-time elite playmaker like Jabrill Peppers.
If only we had someone dynamic like that.
November 7th, 2016 at 11:44 AM ^
Championship teams have QBs who do things like complete 65% of their passes for nearly 9 YPA and throw five times as many TDs as INTs.
If only we had a "playmaking" QB like that, instead of our "game manager" playing right now.
November 7th, 2016 at 1:29 PM ^
with 300+ yards any day. Especially if he is handing to ball off to 5+ running backs that get over 200 yards combined.
November 7th, 2016 at 11:25 AM ^
Good. I hope he and other people keep saying shit like that. Winning trumps everything that people say. Right now, Michigan is 9-0, so there is nothing anyone can say to put them down. The coaching staff, players, and fans all believe this team can win the title this year. "Defense wins championships," right? Well, Michigan arguably has the best defense in the country. Bring it on.
November 7th, 2016 at 11:43 AM ^
Arguably the best defense OF ALL TIME

To think how we doubted at the beginning of the season. To think how we questioned the QB position--
With Harbaugh selecting and coaching that position.
The QB Whisperer strikes again.

He doesn't yet have the anticipation that Rudock showed in the last few games last season, but I agree, his physical tools are better. It's possible that three years of Speight starting, followed by a junior Peters or sophomore McCaffrey, could be the best sustained stretch of quarterbacking in Michigan history.
November 7th, 2016 at 1:32 PM ^
Good point. If they have a nice clean pocket to throw out of, and WR's like Crawford, McDoom, Asiasi, Wheatley, DPJ, Collins, Black, etc.... to throw to, it's going to be so much fun to watch.

it's uncanny how much Speight looks like Roethlisberger just shedding sack attempts. He's going to get Roethlisberger comparisons to no end whenever he enters the draft. If he keeps improving, he might be a franchise QB which seems like an insane thing to actually be typing considering how we felt about him before this season

It has been great to watch Wilton progress every week. The numbers don't lie and he takes good care of the football. Congratulations Wilton and team. Go Blue !

Where are all the flaming ass-nuggets who wanted to bench Speight after Colorado? Come on, raise your hands, admit it...

BUT HE'S NOT A DYNAMIC OFFENSIVE WEAPON, YOU GUYS. LISTEN TO MY CAPITAL LETTERS.
November 7th, 2016 at 11:16 AM ^
Lots of ascending players out there on offense. The play calling is so creative and so fun to watch.
November 7th, 2016 at 11:17 AM ^
As one of the many people that thought for sure Speight would transfer after being buried on the bench when O'Korn and Peters came in and Morris stuck around, I formally apologize.

Happy Gilmore: "I'm stupid, you're smart. I was wrong, you were right. You're the best, I'm the worst. You're very good looking, I'm not attractive."
Chubbs: "Alright, as long as you're willing to admit that, now..."

The best ones were the people wanting Harbaugh to give O'Korn more chances in blowouts to appease their own curiosity. "I want to see O'Korn get more chances cause we don't know what we have with him and I want to know." That makes no sense because Harbaugh, the QB Whisperer, has seen both of them play QB for over a year now.
November 7th, 2016 at 11:54 AM ^
Yep.
I thought he'd never start a game for us.
Believed Morris hype.
Didn't put much stock in a 3* only rated on one site (at time of Hello: post).
Became horribly disenchanted with Al Borges and all of his decisions.
Thought writing was on the wall with three offensive coordinators (recruited by Borges then Nussmeier then current staff), which would cause him to leave or get lost in the shuffle.
Still hoped for Shane Morris.
Thought a grad transfer could still come in and Rudock our lives.
Figured O'Korn was hand-picked by Harbaugh and was penciled in as the starter.

Hell, I still thought we were going to get Taysom Hill.
November 7th, 2016 at 11:28 AM ^
Yea but he is not the SEC Offensive Player of the week. thats the only one that matters
November 7th, 2016 at 11:28 AM ^
double post

Wilton Speightlisberger
November 7th, 2016 at 11:33 AM ^
Speight was OPOW in week 2 also. The only other offensive players to get two B1G OPOW this season are JT Barrett in Wk 1 and 7 and Saquon Barkley in Wk 6 and 9. I don't think anyone would argue that those two are pretty dynamic and effective players. It will be interesting to see if Speight can shake off being labeled as a system QB and just be called the QB dude that he is.
November 7th, 2016 at 11:45 AM ^
Wilton's last 2 games have been his best this season. I cant wait to see him tear up Iowa's D
November 7th, 2016 at 11:47 AM ^
His ability to throw an accurate deep ball is what gives this team the ability to beat any team in the Nation. It's amazing how accurate his throws in the 25+ range are. Our playcalling is legit impossible to prepare for, and that's what gives us the edge against any defense out there.
I think we'll see Harbaugh and Co. meticulously pick apart a worn down Iowa defense this week. The combination of speed, power, and passing is too much for Iowa to defend.
Go Blue! The offense is as much fun to watch as our defense.
November 7th, 2016 at 7:39 PM ^
Not only that but he avoids sacks and then still does his progressions. He looks the field over as well as anyone I can think of lately. Props to Harbaugh. I'm not sure if we'll ever have a bad qb as long as he roams the sideline.

... Funny, but not worth a thread. Barely worth this post actually, because its random. But East Lansing apparently added up all the costs of having MSU there and determined that MSU is costing a shit ton of money for the city, and the posters on RCMB are just shitting non-stop on East Lansing. Yeah, despite all the shit talking I've heard about how great East Lansing is, they did a complete 180 and are giving us Schadenfreude where we probably never would have thought we'd find it.
Is there a worse fanbase anywhere? How can (supposed) alumni just flip on their college town like that?

November 7th, 2016 at 12:29 PM ^
The article begins...
"East Lansing has determined what it says Michigan State University is costing city residents. Right down to the vomit removal..."
Hahahaha, you can't make this shit up...

I read that they named co-opw's... Speight and Samuel
November 7th, 2016 at 1:06 PM ^
I'm looking forward to buckeyes stacking the box only to see Speight chuck it downfield to wide open receivers. The long ball is back.
November 7th, 2016 at 1:42 PM ^
I think Michigan has shown enough since the start of the year where any opponent, whether its OSU or Purdue, has to respect Michigan's ability to both run and pass the ball. So I don't know how much box stacking we'll see from OSU this year.
I know that OSU has some good to great corners corners, but I think they're smart enough to realize that if they put those guys in enough 1:1 situations, eventually Darboh, Chesson or Butt are going to burn them badly.
November 7th, 2016 at 2:02 PM ^
What I know we'll see from OSU? Edge rushing.
November 7th, 2016 at 3:13 PM ^
It's just good to see the long pass back in Michigan's arsenal.
