Would like to see him hook up with Butt more reliably. Seemed like there were several times he was on target there and it just slipped out.

We should encourage more Butt stuff.

If you look at Speight 2015 in that game versus now, the development is quite evident and I think that is probably one of the most important takeaways from this game, where there were indeed plays that had him in a bind. Those were sound decisions and it definitely gives me hope that the offense is in good hands as we march on through the schedule.

Yes. Yardage is good. Mistake-free football even better (though they are not independent variables...).
Also enjoying luxury of backup QBs getting some game time.

IMO this would be an interesting thread if Speight had like 9 starts or something. Given that this is only his second start ever, it really isn't a very interesting stat. It's basically the first college football game he has ever thrown a large number of passes in.

Thats probably one of the best stat lines of any Michigan QB since Henne, no? Denard had some wild games but they usually featured 50% completions and a few INTs

Gonna be bruised. The OL and blitz pickup have to improve, or we'll soon be moving to our backup QB. Shouldn't have had to take that much punishment from UCF.

How about if we have the girl in the red bikini dancing and a picture of the monkey on the wall?

My concern continues to be "STOP THE RUN" and the power running game. It should continue to improve, but to beat the Big 10s best, it's a must. Go Blue!
September 10th, 2016 at 6:47 PM ^
UCF's game plan was to pick on an inexperienced QB by stacking the box to take away the run and force him to beat them with his arm (which he did) and blitz the hell out of him to see if they could force him to make an error (which he didn't). Future opponents will take notice that this is not a winning strategy against 2016 Michigan.

Yeah but the UCF QB threw a pretter ball. He did win that one.

Speight. Confidence building numbers and performance. Really looks like a polished QB.
Excited about where his progression is heading. O'Korn looked good when in too. Go Blue !!
