OT: Watching the Hawaii game in Easter Island

Submitted by The Fugitive on

Just wondering if any of you have been to Easter Island before. I'm going to be there over Labor Day and I'd really like to catch the game against Hawaii.  Is there a good bar for me to go to or will I have to stream it?  Anyone have a link?

Update: some of you are dumber than the statues on the island.

"Ahoy Mates!

My MegaYacht Phallus is anchored off Montserrat today.

I'd watch the Game on the 400" tv, but it and the satelite are currently in use by photographers finishing up the swimsuit photoshoot.

I could take the Flying Wasp ashore to try to find a tiki bar showing the game, but where?"

I will be in Narnia during the game. I planned to be home, but it seems Susan no longer believes so they asked me to fill in last-minute.

Anyone know where I can stream near Archenland?

Guys, I'm going to be in Hawaii for a week in August--my wife and I are staying at the St. Regis and renting unicorns. Does this mean that when I get back to my mansion in Colorado that I'll have to stream the game or can anyone tell me what channel the Hawaii game will be on? I'd really like to catch it so I'm trying to plan 2 months in advance.

You can stream ESPN (four versions) from their TV Go app. You'll need to use a VPN, though. I recently moved to Japan and am using Hotspot VPN. They have a free version but it is a bit flakey so I upgraded to elite for $20/year.

Comcast has Cloud DVR in most areas of the country (but not yet in A2 where our place is). With Cloud DVR you can actually download your recordings off your Cloud DVR segment to an iPad. I am hoping they release that before the football season as the major netwroks are not available on the TV Go app.

Comcast also has a TV Remote app to control your recordings. It's a pretty sweet set up -- when Cloud DVR is released in A2 I'll be able to get up at a normal hour and download the games thus taking ths vagariees of streaming out of the equation. I also bought a Lightning to HDMI adaptor cable from the Apple store to connect my iOS devices to an HD TV.

This brings back bad memories from last year. I was in the UP for the Utah game, went into the only two bars in town, and figured out they love the Packers up there. WTF man. Old couples sitting in a bar in the middle of nowhere watching a pre-fuk'n season game of the Packers. Ugh

All you need is a decent wifi connection. On game day people will post web sites that are streaming the game. It took a little work to find one that worked but I managed to watch the Utah game last year without any issues while out of the country.

This is apropos:

  • A prisoner at a maximum security prison is laying in bed contemplating his situation, and hears someone yell out, "34!" followed by laughter from the other prisoners. Then he heard someone else yell out, "60!" Followed by even more laughter.

Confused, the new prisoner asks his cellmate "what's going on?".

"Well, we've all heard every joke so many times, we've given them each a number to save time and get more jokes in." "Oh," the new prisoner says, "can I try?" "Sure, go ahead - 102 is a tried-and-true crowd-pleaser." So, the new prisoner yells out "102!" and the place is dead quiet save for a few groans.

Confused, he looks at his cellmate who is just shaking his head. "Hey, what happened?" "Well, some people can tell a joke, some people can't."
