There's a very strong possibility the video was not uploaded right the minute it was taken.

Of course you would think this is awesome.

I think it shows he's done a LOT of growing up. Eventually, we all come to realize what rip-roaring dumbasses we all were at 13. To realize it at 19....I'd say he's definitely had some help from his Wings teammates, but it's a mature take nonetheless.

So glad he is finally the full time starter. My god he makes hard saves look so easy. Between him, Larkin, and Dekeyser, the Wings future looks bright for a long time.

Surfaced a few nights ago on reddit. Person who found it was a Wings fan looking up random videos of people shooting pucks on youtube and recognized him. I caught it pretty soon and it had only about 200 views at the time I clicked, so it was definitely buried. It was also removed from youtube by morning (later reuploaded by someone who saved it), but Larkin seems to have embraced it now, so that's good.
Here's a gif that was posted in tonight's Wings game thread on reddit:

People can unearth a video of an NHL superstar playing hockey in his basement as a nerdy looking teenager and the video is not even 4 years old

Birth of the twisted wrister! They angled two hockey sticks in the net so they had targets to shoot at... top shelf, you know?

Watching Cam " I won't dive for my fumble" Newton and the post game SuperBowl, it made me appreciate the NHL's Stanley Cup and classy hand shake ceremony.
Throughout many Red Wings broadcasts you hear about how Larkin is just keeping his mouth shut and earning his stripes despite leading the team in points and +/-. Chris Osgood mentioned how nice it was to see Larkin's personality because he is so humble and quiet when interviewed.
My daughter's friend is from Larkin's hometown and has a brother who has a medical condition. Larkin is sympathetic to this cause ( I believe it is in family too but am not sure). She asked if the boy could meet Larkin. He responded way over the top in kindness and generosity.
It just makes me smile when I hear good players are good guys too.

Wow, that was painful to watch.
Were we ever that dorky?
Sorry, rhetorical question.
