Usually mean a better / more expensive car.  In this particular case, both cars are good and fun to drive, but Dawkins' car is bigger and more expensive.  The 328 is the little brother to the 550.

BMW's are great cars, until they get some miles on them.  Then they very slowly and expensively begin to disintegrate right before your eyes..

I don't know why I'm even writing this post.  I think I'm going to play some Oregon Trail.

My old man has convertible 645i. Sexy ass car; hell of a lot of fun to drive, but it's basically a money pit. Whomever had it before he did babied it as it only had 20K on the odmometer when he bought it, and it was a Florida car. Despite the low mileage and being cared for meticulously, he's putting in the shop at least a couple of times a year.

A few months ago, we were in AA because he had to get some injections in his back, and I drove for him since he was in no shape to be driving after getting them. As we're walking in, a guy pulls up in a black 745i. We both stop and check it out, and he and my old man started talking about their cars. He said the same thing my old man said about his car; fun to drive, but a nuissance to own. He said he's had a few of them, but that the 745 would be his last one. The whole time I'm thinking: "First world problems!"

Told me that if I was ever going to buy a BMW that it was best to stick to the 3 series.  The higher models have awful long term dependability and are really expensive to repair.  Then again, if you can afford to drop 50-75k on a car I suppose spending an additional 5k per year fixing it isn't such a big deal.

The juxtaposition of that stick family sticker, the "I Love Crack Whores" bumper sticker and the Ohio State logo really says more than any words could in this instance. You could be behind this van and not even need to ask a question if confronted by the driver. They've told you what you need to know.

This made me think of the scene from Enemy of the State when Will Smith discovered the NSA surveillance van and called the police telling them that he suspected drugs were being sold from it. Wish I could find the clip but I have to get back to work.

I mean, I am still in disbelief that this person had this on their car.

At some point, a volitional choice, alcohol induced or not, was made: "Yeah, I'm gonna place this on the back of my my family vehicle. Yeah. That is a good idea. Yeah, I'm totally gonna do this."

These people exist, guys.
