Submitted by Casanova on

I didnt' see this posted, I figured I would. So i did.

Thoughts on this QB change? Do you guys think it makes OSU better or does Cardale demotion cause strife in the locker room?

I, too, thought we would see a more diversive plan on offense when Michigan played MSU. Was quite disappointed when it didn't come to fruition. I guess Jimmy Harbaugh has his offensive-hands tied by Jake Rudock's limitations as a passer. Too bad, but it is what it is.

Hoke gets too much credit for this, imo. Hoke had Gardner. If Hoke was rolling out a statue at QB, Michigan goes nowhere and loses those games like people thought Michigan would lose those games. Gardner could move around just enough that OSU lost contain and lost coverage and Michigan moved the ball. OSU has struggled to defend running QBs this entire time under Meyer. Kevin Wilson and Indiana have terrorized OSU defensively three diferent times. Colter at Northwestern moved the ball. Perry Hills moved the ball.

Michigan's offense this year plays right into OSU's defensive strengths, despite Harbaugh's large coaching edge over Hoke. This Michigan offense is low-budget Wisconsin. Wisconsin hasn't moved the ball vs. OSU in three years. The last two years under Hoke played right into OSU's weaknesses. Rudock will need to have 50 rush yards to keep this thing interesting.

We're going to beat the living shit out of Ohio State.

They could start a reincarnated Jesus Christ at QB and we'll still kick their ass.

Not worried about their starting QB at all.

Their D-line isn't better than MSU's... It's good with Bosa... But I think McDowell & Calhoun are better than Bosa & Washington(?)... If we have Drake Johnson healthy by then, we might be okay. Playing him against Northwestern was stupid. If he plays against state, we might get an extra touchdown instead of a field goal. Who knows....

Bosa is widely considered to be a top 5 pick and Washington is likely a 2nd/3rd round pick. Calhoun is likely a 3rd round pick while McDowell is a potential early draft entry for 2017 but he isn't Bosa good. OSU duo is better but MSU might have a better overall DL. However OSU LBs are superior because 3 could get drafted at 1st/2nd round

Doesn't look good for us. We can't even get a punt off to beat number 7 Michigan state. How will we beat the number one team in the county that hasn't lost a big ten game in like 3 years. This program is depressing

finally came to life when JT got into the game. They scored 3 touchdowns in about 6 minutes.

Cardale isn't the same run threat JT is, I never understood Urban's loyalty. Cardale's a load, don't get me wrong, but JT should have been the starter from day one.

I was afraid OSU would eventually wake from their slumber. Bosa looked really good.

On a positive note, Ohio State will probably lose 7-8 starters to the Shield after the season.

I'm glad they put in JT. He's the better game manager, and the offense runs better when he's in there. We need OSU at their best so that we could beat the best convincingly. Based on the Big Ten tie breaker we need to be ranked higher than OSU in the committee polls. Even if we win out with MSU possible two losses, it would be hard to jump OSU in the polls with our 2 losses, despite our possible win over OSU.

To me It seems like Urban is trying to cater to Cardale as much as possible since the guy won him the NC and thats why he is letting him start against all these cupcake teams..Once they play msu, us and playoffs i guarantee you JT takes over

Barrett worries me more - he is a better intermediate to short term passer.  Cardale is the bomb thrower.  Barrett also runs very well.  PSU was doing quite well vs Cardale and then Ubran puts in JT - they switch the offense completely in the 4th quarter to a full run spread and PSU doomed.

I think they're a much better team with Barrett at the helm, he looked like he was finally back to his A+ self last weekend.

Not to mention the team voted Barrett captain, so I can't imagine this causing any dissension.

We are forging steel spine for that last Saturday in November. It won't fucking matter who the damn QB is so they can start whomever ... CAN YOU BELIEVE WE HAVE HARBAUGH !!!

I live in Ohio and frankly, I was flabbergasted when Cardale was named the starter at the beginning of the year. My thought process was simple. Would OSU have lost the National Championship with JT at the helm? If the answer was yes, then Cardale should be the starter. If the answer was no, then JT is the right man for the job. That's not meaning any disrespect for Cardale. But the fact is that the TEAM was clicking on all cylinders when they hit the B1G Championship and Cardale happened to be put into a position to succeed. That being said, now that they've handed the reins over, OSU is about to become more dangerous. They're a better team with JT and they are going to figure that out in a hurry. It's going to be a showdown come November.

That JT over Cardale I see that spark that JT gives OSU when he is in the game for them. With Cardale it seems like OSU go's through the emotions and isn't until the final quarter when OSU puts the game on ice JT gives OSU that spark for some reason Cardale not so much.
