Article on Woodson saying "I have 10 years left with the Raiders"
Very brief article with the subject saying it all. Woodson believes he can play until he's 49-might he become the oldest player in NFL history, replacing another Raider? The man is leading the league in interceptions so why not another 10 years.

...and he'll still be intercepting Peyton!
...and Sebastian Janakowski will still be kicking!

Would you tell this man when he can stop playing?

Yes, yes I would. And my message would be "you can stop playing any damn time you want!".

he continues to play well, is in good shape and still has a thirst for football. At some point however, don't you want to stop putting your body through the punishment of an NFL season? When you have all the money you'll ever need and you've accomplished so much in your profession, don't you want to move on to other things? Apparently not. Regardless, it's hard not to like Charles Woodson and be eternally grateful for all he's done for UM and the community.

"Coach Woodson, how am I supposed to do that?"
"What? Just leap 15 feet in the air and grab the ball with one hand. What's so hard about that? AGAIN"

My 14 y/o started freshman high school football in Virginia this year. He chose #2 because GREATEST OF ALL TIME.
Woodson is timeless.
I can't wait until he joins UM in some form after he retires.

Calendar appointment created with a screenshot. On October 20th 2025 you'll be required to eat a lemon.

and lemon must be set aside today, in wait of that potential outcome. 10 year old lemon only, no freshy newbie from the market.

Would love to have him next year when Jarrod Wilson leaves. Could you imagine Woodson and Peppers patrolling the secondary? lmao at other teams that would try to throw on that.

The pick in the Trash Can in '97 is still the greatest individual football play I've ever seen.

but i played until i was 41 and only quit b/c we came back home to michigan. for my level (light years below charles) i still felt fine and was still starting and enjoying the games. it really doesn't surprise me that a guy as gifted as charles can still get it done, particularly at a position like his which doles out some hard hits, but not nearly of the frequency of many other positions. it is also true that the agility and quickness of our youth becomes the endurance and strength of our 30's and 40's.

If he thought he was Jagr, he would change his name to "Woodsn."

Gordie Howe was a hugh bad ass in his 40's. George Blanda was too. Charles is a freak and is better than any Lion regardless of age.

As long as he can remain Charles Monkey-Fightin' Woodson, he should remain Charles Monkey-Fightin' Woodson.
