It's an Ann Arbor kind of night

Submitted by Wendyk5 on

Just got into town for homecoming. Ate a $17 sandwich at Zingerman's after waiting in line for an hour. Got a brownie to go. Now I'm watching "The Big Chill" in my hotel room. It certainly is an Ann Arbor kind of night. Go Blue!

You have no idea - the sandwich is only the tip of it.
But it's more than just 70°; it's no daily tornado watches for 3 months, no shoveling snow, NO BUGS, impossible views, beaches, and multiple amazing $17 sandwich places - not 1 where you have to wait in line for over an hour.
It's pricey here, but it's hard to conceive of living anywhere else once you get used to it... we're almost done turning Portland into a less expensive 2nd SF. Of course it won't be less expensive for long!

Took a drive around town. Stopped by to watch the girls soccer team practice. Went over to have s couple pints at grizzly peak and old town. What a great night!!!

Lots of alumni around.

My wife just got up to go to work....at Zingermans. She's a chef there. Makes decent money there. So, keep buying those sandwiches, my baby needs a new pair of shoes! Go Blue!!

mama can bring home the bacon, and fry it up in a pan?  (in a respectful, does she bring you great stuff from work, kind of way)

never went to zingermans despite my 4 yrs in ann arbor.  don't even know where it is.  must be very good, but unless i'm in a food  line in a 3rd world country and my family is going to perish if i don't bring it home, i'm not waiting anywhere for an hour just to eat.  time is too valuable.

"The Big Chill" - I saw it when I was in high school.  A night of dubious firsts followed:  first time I did a certain powdery substance and then my buddy got laid for the first time.  Otherwise, I thought the movie sucked.
