Maybe I'm still shellshocked from those early season RichRod rankings that always collapsed, but I really think it's too early in the season for rankings to matter.

Example: Bronco Mendenhall saying Michigan's the best team his team has played, and that includes highly ranked UCLA.

We don't know if he's right or if that's just talk after having been clobbered.

...Cal, Northwestern, Ok. State, and W.Va., at least based on 4 games of data, so I would put Michigan at #19.

But those teams are still undefeated, so it is not surprising to see them ranked ahead of 1 loss Michigan.

Still early in the season.  Time will reveal all...

The truth is that Michigan is one of the more improved teams in the country after opening the season with a 24-17 loss at Utah, a top-10 team as we move into October. The Wolverines have run for more than 200 yards in every game since that loss and have given up a total of 14 points in their last three games.

The quote is glowing certainly. As they mention at the end of the commentary for Michigan, it is a winning combination and hopefully it continues.

Brad Edwards had us at #19, as did Ryan McGee of ESPN The Magazine, but #22 and #23 were the most common ranking. A few analysts were being inordinately kind to Oregon by actually ranking them too.

#10 in "S&P+" Poll.

I feel really good right now about this team and think Utah would have went our way 8 or 9 times out of 10... but it didn't..

I can't make ajudgement until i see the next two weeks of everyone playing.

Until then I'll enjoy muppets.
