A little fuel for the fire, perhaps?
On playing Michigan...
“I feel like our guys are very battle-tested and have been exposed to enough big-time atmospheres and hostile crowds,” Whittingham said. “No more significant than any other Pac-12 game or any other games that we have.
“What’s significant is having Michigan leave the Big House and come here to play. That would have never happened five or six years ago and beyond. … Are they any bigger than Oregon, USC, UCLA? No.”

I can kind of see where their confidence is coming from

Yeah, but we gift wrapped them 5 turnovers. We also played with no intensity whatsoever. I suppose its possible this year will be the same thing. Not likely, but possible.

I might like to head over there on Thursday night for some schadenfreude.
Do they even have internet in Utah?

UM is a smidge over .500 since Carr left. UM would LOVE to be at the UCLA/USC levels, let alone Oregon. So yeah, this most innocuous of statements should be treated as it is; a head coach telling people his team is ready. I don't think the OP is trying to get the dander up, but the fact that this is considered any type of "disrespect" is silly.

Burn the boats . . . and then their house!
I'm way too pumped for this game.

but its fruitless to make a comment like that prior to your opener against this Michigan team. He would have done better to remark about what a great program and tradition Michigan has, and how it will be a huge challenge to play UM Thursday night.

I couldn't agree more. His comment struck me as being rather Dantonio-like.

This should be all the fuel for the fire. Nothing pissed me off more than seeing an opponent do the "heisman" in our endzone.
I hope they looped this 24x7 in the "submarine"

I'm sure the team has more than enough reasons to be fired up, this comment means nothing to them. I just hope someone knocks the snot out of that mor(m)on that did the hiesman pose last year.

I seriously doubt that this team is going to need any bulletin board material to be ready to rock tomorrow night.

why WOULD we be bigger than Oregon? We have to prove something before we get back to Oregon's level. We have sucked recently while they are a top 5 program.

And even if he's targeting Michigan specifically, what is he saying that isn't true? Michigan has a long way to go to earn back the respect its lost as a program.

So, duh, they are bigger than the cited PAC12 league teams. They should feel honored we are gracing them with our presence.
What a dip.
