A little fuel for the fire, perhaps?

On playing Michigan...

“I feel like our guys are very battle-tested and have been exposed to enough big-time atmospheres and hostile crowds,” Whittingham said. “No more significant than any other Pac-12 game or any other games that we have.

“What’s significant is having Michigan leave the Big House and come here to play. That would have never happened five or six years ago and beyond. … Are they any bigger than Oregon, USC, UCLA? No.”

Utah is pretty dumb. They might have woken a sleeping giant. They don't know what to expect and I've read this and some arrogant comments from their running back. You guys are fucking Utah.

Right...A team that be us in our house last year. Yes, we self-destructed but who cares? They have all the reason in the world to feel confident. I thought his comments were pretty reasonable and - admittedly - after the past several years, I was surprised to see he looped us into the same group as USC, Oregon, and UCLA!

UM is a smidge over .500 since Carr left.  UM would LOVE to be at the UCLA/USC levels, let alone Oregon.  So yeah, this most innocuous of statements should be treated as it is; a head coach telling people his team is ready.  I don't think the OP is trying to get the dander up, but the fact that this is considered any type of "disrespect" is silly.

but its fruitless to make a comment like that prior to your opener against this Michigan team. He would have done better to remark about what a great program and tradition Michigan has, and how it will be a huge challenge to play UM Thursday night.

This should be all the fuel for the fire.  Nothing pissed me off more than seeing an opponent do the "heisman" in our endzone.

I hope they looped this 24x7 in the "submarine"

Screw 'em and feed 'em horseshit. I want blood, bones, and bad handshakes. Leave it all on the field of that tiny stadium.

why WOULD we be bigger than Oregon?   We have to prove something before we get back to Oregon's level.  We have sucked recently while they are a top 5 program.

I think that speaks more to his program's ascendance than our descent. Utah is a sound, well respected program. They're not some run of the mill MAC cupcake.

And even if he's targeting Michigan specifically, what is he saying that isn't true? Michigan has a long way to go to earn back the respect its lost as a program.

Not too inflammatory but it is there. Staee fans are running their mouths as well. Harbaugh is no Hoke. The one thing I am confident in is that this team will no longer play like schoolgirls. I don't think it is wise to underestimate Harbaugh. He was in the NFL the last four years and still has the same number of major bowl wins as Mike Dantonio.
