A Hard Knocks Type Show for M Football?
With Notre Dame doing something like this on Showtime and OSU's Inside Ohio State Training Camp on BTN, how long til M gets a show like this? Will this ever happen, what with the submarine and all?
Gotta imagine this could only be good for recruiting. I can't speak for the ND and OSU shows, but Hard Knocks does a good job of showing interesting content without giving up anything that their oponents can use.

However, it would be crazy.

Admiral Harbaugh runs a tight ship.

Space is pretty limited too, so it encourages throwing lasers and being able to run incredibly precise routes, so from a training standpoint, the submarine has certain advantages, I would imagine.

You got to balance the recruiting with the competitive disadvantage of people seeing what you're doing. Given that Alabama and Ohio State have done this, I'd say it's worth it given that those teams have won 3/5 of the last national titles.

Had the Barwis show on The Discovery Channel for a couple seasons.
Had a lot of former M guys featured.

I think it would be very neat to see, however, outside of pure entertainment, I'd rather have the distraction put on some other team instead of the one I root for. There's a reason playoff teams never do Hard Knocks. I want our guys focused on the task at hand and winning games.

If you look into when Harbaugh was over at Stanford they seemed to do did a of stuff with the media, etc,,,,. I know theres a a lot of stuff on youtube with Stanford football including a show they've done focusing on the Stanfored S&C coach that Michigan went after hard after when Harbaugh was hired at UM.
Add in the twitter stuff with JH and I think he knows this is the direction you have to go to keep up with the teams that are doing it.

I would prefer a retrospective on a Rose Bowl winning season.

Nah...could be entertaining but rather have mystery around The Team.

The only show I want to see is one with Harbaugh poking his head out of a cardboard submarine...a "Maize" submarine if you will, in which he just talks about anything but football.

Yeah, let's be just like OSU and Notre Dame.......not!
Let's get one thing straight: Michigan is the trend setter. We taught the Irish pansies how to play football and every worthwhile tradition that waste of a state school has comes from Michigan. Script Ohio? Done by the UM band first. Winning? We wrote the book and will soon start another chapter. Pride stickers? BO'S IDEA The only traditions they have that are original suck: A toilet shaped stadium with obstructed seating. The color gray. Pooping in coolers. Treating others miserably.
I think I've made my point.

I like the tight ship this season. I want Utah knowing as little as possible before the first game. If they have no idea who the QB, RB or top WRs are, they will struggle to prepare...Also they won't know the plays the offense is working on and formations. It's the same with the defense. The less the opponent knows, the more they have to prepare for more things...Or not know what to prepare for at all.

Since the late 1960s Michigan has been famous for allowing a ton of media access to its football compound.

I tried finding it in a Google search, but does anyone remember the ESPN reality show "The Season" that was supposed to follow Notre Dame football in 2003? The rumor was Notre Dame pulled the plug on it after 2 or 3 episodes when Michigan annihilated them 38-0. Notre Dame does a pretty good job of trying to wipe any history of these shows from the internet. I am still trying to find a clip of the SNL skit from 2008 killing Notre Dame in a fake Notre Dame on NBC commercial (Touchdown other guys!).

I pitched the idea to a Producer from HBO Sports after Rodriguez' first year. She declined.
