Not if your pitcher is a good hitter. Still, I don't think Hutch manages like that. She expects anyone out there to be able to hit. And Wagner came up big a week ago in the box

A lot of pitchers are really strong hitters. Wagner is inconsistant/doesn't get a lot of at bats but has great power. Blanco (the third out) is also a pitcher, playing infield her freshman year while her pitching gets a chance to adjust.

In MLB, yes. The talent gap of a pitcher and position player batting isn't nearly as big in college softball as it is in the majors. Sometimes, the pitchers are one of the better batters

Dislike the bunt decision and really hate the lack of coming home on the fly ball. If you are going to play small ball you have to be aggresive on the base paths to go along with it. Also if blanco is such a highly regarded pitcher why not redshirt her this year? Is that not a thing in softball?

Because Blanco is a very good hitter. She has 40 RBIs as a freshman last I checked. Plus, another pitcher is coming in next season so Michigan will have a JR, SO and FR staff. I've talked to a manager about Sara D getting a medical redshirt and he said it's up to the NCAA right now.

Yes, but with a Mike Trout, Nelson Cruz, Adrian Gonzalez and Prince Fielder lineup behind him. Sure you're giving up the best hitter in the game. But you put the runner in scoring position with some great bats coming to the plate.
