Michigan Softball clinches 8th straight B1G Championship!
A walkoff home run by Lindsay Montemarano to give Michigan the 9-1, 6-inning run rule victory over Penn State gives Michigan their EIGHTH STRAIGHT B1G Championship
Michigan has clinched at least a share of the B1G Championship. A win tomorrow on senior day gives them a sweep and the outright B1G Championship.
Michigan has already locked up the 1 seed in the B1G Tournament.
I like the classy pause after the "Just", but in this case the more direct "Shut The Fuck Up" would also have worked well.
Congrats and bring home the out right title tomorrow!
Go Blue!!
It's the longest B1G Championship streak in the history of the Big Ten Conference in ALL sports....
the second closest to it is held by.......Michigan Men's Swimming & Diving. An active streak, as well. Michigan has won the last 5 B1G S&D Championships.
That can't be right. Iowa won the Big Ten championship in wrestling every year from 1974 through 1998--25 straight years. Indiana won the Big Ten championship in men's swimming every year from 1961 through 1980--20 straight years.
Or do you just mean it's the longest-ever streak by a Michigan team? But it's not that--Michigan men's tennis won every Big Ten championship from 1968 through 1983--16 straight years.
Maybe you just mean it's the longest currently-active streak?
I mean regular season championships when I say B1G Championships.
What is a "regular season" championship in swimming?
Do you think Iowa didn't win 25 consecutive "regular season" championships in wrestling? They didn't lose a conference dual meet for 20 years or so!
There isn't one. It's just a championship meet.
And there wasn't a Wrestling regular season championship until the early-2000s. Just a championship meet there, as well.
Duh, you're right.
Can't believe I missed that as they just won their 6th straight a couple weeks ago.
I presume this refers to regular season titles? Given Northwestern's 16 year women's tennis tournament streak. Also, aren't our tennis women up to 5 as well now?
5 more years and it will be precisely equal to Wooden's tenure at UCLA. SO basically Hutch has to coach at least another 6 years
Hutch is the best coach at Michigan-then and now. Amazing consistency. Her and her staff are amazing.

And congratulations to the entire Michigan Softball team for carrying on the championship tradition Hutch and her teams established a long time ago. 8 straight----IMPRESSIVE!!
Slightly off-topic for this thread, but I'm not seeing a Michigan Baseball thread: Michigan is putting a hurt on #19 Iowa. Right now (televised live on BTN) its Michigan leading Iowa 11-5 in the bottom of the 8th.
