Great drive by Zak

where we had the run to end the half rather than have the run go against us?

What a run! Time to them away in the second half.

Well damn - I'll take a 17-point lead at halftime. Beilein seems pretty satisfied.

Now THAT is finishing a half. 21-4 run over the last 10 minutes or so. Awesome.

AWESOME

Up 17 at the half. What would it be if we could make a damn layup???

Is it just me, or is Aubrey becoming GRIII with range and the ability to give a shit?
March 12th, 2015 at 12:58 PM ^
When did Robinson ever murmur anything like that? It's pretty shocking to me how quickly some people on here are ready to dog an incredibly productive player who helped lead us to one of our best eras ever.
given what GRIII gave us in his two years--Elite 8 and Runner-up. Look at his stats during last year's tourney. The big plays he made in the 2014 tourney. Say nice things about Dawkins, but denigrating GRIII is ungrateful and just wrong.
GRIII did some spectacular stuff and absolutely had some big plays and big stat lines, but watching him, I just never thought he showed that much passion or drive to improve. He played soft most of the time it felt like, and I never saw a ton of hustle plays from him, especially compared to guys like Spike, Mitch, Morgan, or Burke (or, for that matter, his dad back in the day). I always felt he was trying to (and to a large degree able to) get by on his insane athleticism alone. Don't get me wrong, I got just as hype for the alley oops and breakaways as everyone, but as often as not, it seemed to me he kinda just chilled out on the court and let everyone else do stuff, and then took advantage when there was an opening.
I've been pondering the same thing the past couple of weeks. Weird, because both have NBA dads, but Dawkins seems to be way more mature and dedicated than GRIII ever did.

I love BTN2GO. Brighthouse, you're wonderful too (at least for now). We're kicking a**. Keep at it boys!

Hardly watched the first half, wondering if I shouldn't even bother with the second as I could be a bad luck charm.
March 12th, 2015 at 12:57 PM ^
Were you watching during that stretch when ILL took the lead?
March 12th, 2015 at 12:58 PM ^
Didn't see one second of the first half.
Fk it. Enjoy the second half.

My wife just sent me a photo from Rodeo Drive - told her to stay in Beverly Hills until the game is over.

Zak Irvin has FIVE assists in the first half. This is the same guy who a few weeks ago never had more than three in a single game.

great athleticism, good shot, good size. went to a major prep school. i'll take it, but i don't get it.
but dawkins has been making big shots, playing good defense, etc. plus he's an athletic freak with nba potential. not sure how beilein was the only person to see this.

All things considered in the last several weeks, I'll take a 17 point lead into halftime definitely, especially when we're sitting at 62.50% eFG%, which is about 30% better than what Illinois is managing at the moment. Just crossing my fingers that any forthcoming drought will be delightfully brief rather than tragically long.
Hopefully can extend the lead to give our guys a rest for tomorrow. Or at least play a bunch of 2-3 zone to keep legs fresh.
would like to see a little better defensive rebounding. Helps that Illinois couldn't hit water falling out of a boat though
Irvin...nasty move.
has been why we feed max down low so much.
The gravitational pull of his calves sucks the ball in.
Ha - their missed dunk makes up for Dawkins' fuck-up in first half.
OMG - that was fucking amazing LOL
shit. what a fucking beautiful pass. wow. wowowowow
