Turley staying at Stanford?
January 5th, 2015 at 12:07 AM ^
Turley is staying here in the Bay. Someone lied and you guys and badly. Jim is a man and coach that "leaves a big wake". Could be he is great at football but horrible at managing staff and negotiating contracts

Well, judging from his track record of excellent management and supreme talent identification, I'm going to call bullshit on this.

This guy might work out. He's got wolves and he already owns some Adidas gear so there would be some cost savings there...

If true, this is a bigger blow than Morrow not coming. Turley was integral to Stanford's resurgence.

FootballScoop is reporting that he is indeed going back to Stanford. We all know how well connected and infallable they are.

Two men agreed on what exactly? Have a source to quote please?

And it's not unique to the sports world. Within the past year, my company hired a guy for my group (including the signed employment agreement), he quit his old job. Within two days of his start date with my company, he announced that he had accepted a different job and would not be coming.

Webb posted on scout saying that he's hearing that Stanford folks are saying that Turley changed his mind and he'll dig into it tomorrow.

What has this world come to when Stanford and Kentucky can say no to Michigan... in football...
:(
I miss the old days.
:'(

I knew these reports tonight werent true. I actually was looking forward to watching a game or two at one of the most hallowed grounds in all of football. Anyone that loves football wants to see a game up there. Maybe things will be different and a phone call is made over to California tomorrow morning. Honestly, the reporting on this was pitiful. NO ONE had inside sources outside Michigan staff

I'd love to see a home and home with Michigan and Standford. To hell with Notre Dame! Probably never happen though.

Hate the ND games, always a joke. They need to join a conference

If spreading correct info is being a troll then fine. Look at the timestamps on my posts this evening. I knew info before Espn. Anyone ask why before throwing me under the bus? This forum had really up to date info before Webb reported today

Is gloating but just check my timestamps as a new account.....Tonight was the first of many problems with JH, and this debacle is just the start

If it wasn't clear by your rapidly decreasing point total, you are not welcome here.

no it's all about pride and Michigan getting what it wants. I mean we did get Jim MF Harbaugh, so the rest should "fall" into place it would seem.

It does seem a bit odd that this was being reported as a done deal when the only apparent source was hearsay from a recruit. Something isn't adding up... either the inital reports were way premature, or these new reports are premature (or a smokescreen).
January 5th, 2015 at 12:51 AM ^
I find it very odd the way things went today as well. From what I heard the deal was really close to being settled
January 5th, 2015 at 12:55 AM ^
Same thoughts I had. I am withholding judgement till tomorrow when we should know. Too much bad news for one night. The least I can do is wait till tomorrow and see if anything's changed.

Stanford seems like the only school where their S&C coach is the most beloved coach on campus.
Gosh, I would have loved to have gotten him wearing Maize and Blue and chanting the Victors.
January 5th, 2015 at 12:58 AM ^
Unfortunately Stanford has an older "wine and cheese" crowd and not a young fanbase. Students here are just starting to attend games. Michigan is a legend, Stanford is still learning to have a constant football program

Looks like Michigan is forcing Stanford and UK to overpay for S&C/TE/Recruiting Coordinators lol
My positive hot take.

Do we know if he was even offered? It's all speculation.
