reminds me of the 2010 OSU game, where the fans unfurled a VIva Rodriguez banner behind the Michigan bench. Douches are going to douche.

The same opposing fans who laughed at Michigan for having Rodriguez as head coach are now laughing at Michigan for firing him, as if that was their position all along.

for respect who feels slighted at the smallest things had his team walk to Spartan Stadium wearing their helmets and warmup suits?

Brady Hoke, RichRod, Jim Harbaugh, Les Miles, Vince friggin' Lombardi--if your QB appears to be singlemindedly determined to turn the ball over and make terrible, freshman-type decisions, it doesn't really matter who coaches or what scheme is being run. But of course--how did Devin get to this place? How is a 5th year senior so unbelievably inept? Well, Hoke (and, ironically, a lot of people here on the blog who are his toughest critics) are big believers in the illusory benefit of not having a "QB controversy", when that might have been just the thing that kept us from this lamentably hopeless place. The job of the team (and the embodiment of the team--the coach) is to win the games, OK? Not to make players feel special. Not to safeguard, nor report, injury information from/to hungry journos. Not to install systems that make everybody remember better times or ones that challenge the status quo. Not to sound great or awful in press conferences. Not to run practices well or poorly. TO WIN THE G*DDAMN GAMES. How many times might Hoke have benched Gardner for a series here or there to explain to him--in the moment, when it's fresh--what he was doing wrong? And with Gardner's laughable mechanics and penchant for constant mental breakdowns, that would have been a great many times. On those numerous occasions, Morris could have checked in, gotten some playing time, completed some passes, *definitely* tossed some picks, but also worked on what *he* wasn't doing well. Both could have improved simultaneously. It will be Hoke's stubbornness that undoes him. But the irony, to my mind, is: the very thing that could have saved his job and quite possibly our season, was the one thing neither Hoke *nor* MGoBlog ever seriously considered: that 5th year senior Devin Gardner just wasn't good enough, needed serious work on everything, and certainly was not entitled to be the perpetual starter, much less wear Tom Harmon's jersey. A barely capable QB and Michigan is 5-3, not 3-5. (Edit: oh, and I'll hasten to add: Shane Morris is no good option today. True. You *had* to play Dev, and yeah, probably all day. Kid's got heart and his physitude (a made-up word I happen to love) gives us a chance to win games. But this didn't have to be the case. Morris wasn't recruited because he sucks--he probably would have been, at minimum, serviceable, had people not been so damn stubborn and essentially bailed on his in-game development in service of sacred cows. That, in turn, could have helped make Devin better, too. OK, neg away. I'm a man, I'm 32. I can take it.)

You are such a clown. To bad you don't crap about hoe Rich Rod was screwed over by Loser Lloyd Carr and his little worthless minions. By the way clown since you're such a genius tell what Arizona's record is. You're just like all the other Wal-Mart Wolverines that fill that stadium.

Hate to say it- but those photos show Marky D. looked like a coach while Hoke looked so much like a small boy with a Christmas shirt on.

I can't believe it, someone on here actually has a clue. Fantastic. None of these bozos on here want to admit that Loser Lloyd was the reason RR failed. By the way you fools that think I'm wrong answer me this. Who was the coach that lost to App. State and then was crushed the next week? He also had how many future NFL players on his team? Oh yeah Loser Lloyd Carr.

If you are trying to persuade anyone that what you say is correct, you might want to refrain from calling them fools and bozos. No one is likely to come to your position who is not already there when you use such rhetoric to describe them, no matter how logical your position.

The difference between Rich Rod and Hoke is that RIch Rod has proven that he can coach, by looking at what he did at WV and now at Arizona. For whatever reason or reasons he just did not work at Michigan. As for Hoke if he is fired, does anyone really think that he will go to another Power 5 conference school and be successful? Or for that matter, do you ever expect any Power 5 school to give him a chance?

its not as bad as it seems. RR was and is a great coach but not a good fit for M at the time he was hired. Tried to change too much such as installing 3-3-5 defense and the M talent on D was depleted at the time, plus 3 defensive coordinators in 3 years, etc. So many things here conspiring against Michigan right now. Some positives however looking ahead, they have talent on the roster unlike when RR came to Michigan. The talent is still younger so that a new coach with a system and some disipline could conceivably turn the team around in 1 season. If you look at Dantonio he had middling seasons his first 3 then had a breakout year his 4th with an 11-2 record. He lost the first 4 bowl games he coached at MSU and in 2012 he had a 7-6 season. The only reason there hasn't been more pressure on him during those down seasons was the continuing woes at Michigan overshadowed all of that. There will be a better day for Michigan fans and it will be coming sooner rather than later but the Michigan administration needs to get their act together and hire a new AD and then appoint an interim coach while they search for a permanent HC much like OSU did with Luke Fickell in 2011 before they hired Meyer. The pressure is on the Michigan administration to act like the leaders and the best and get it done now!
