This stuff kills me. It also shows the power of visual images - I read about this on the blog yesterday and was like "damn that's terrible", then I read another story online with this little child's photo and it makes it 100x worse.

Suddenly I really don't care about the state of our football team. I do care that we have a team full of great people and I do care that this little boy gets better.

A good reminder there's more to life than wins and losses. Couldn't be prouder of this team despite the rough patch and get better soon Chad.

Tomorrow (Friday) is Chad's birthday too. Would be cool if anyone did what they could to wish him a happy birthday.

I hope 5 or 10 or 25 years from now you can read this thread and understand that people who didn't even know you were pulling for you with all their hearts. I know I am. Please beat this.

I have a son who just turned 5 a few days ago. Nothing in this world matters more to me than him. I know I'm far from impartial, but little boys of this age are incredible. They're a perfect combination of starting to understand things in the world but stlll innocent. Trying to be independent, but will still give you a hug out of the blue. I can't imagine what it's like for his family - just heartbreaking. I wish them all the best in this tough time.
The juxtaposition of the huge football players with little kids always gives me a sense of security. Like the big guys can somehow make things better. I hope Chad took some comfort from their visit.

My son is five years old and I can't think about Chad and his mama without crying. I have no idea how I would hold it together for my little boy if we were in their shoes. I am hoping and praying that he beats this and that they celebrate many more birthdays together. I am so glad that UM has an awesome pediatric hospital and I'm sure Chad is receiving the best care possible. Best wishes to Chad and the Carr family!!!
