Saturday Noon Game Thread
This is an awful slate of games - I am mostly watching West Virginia v Maryland. OSU v Kent State is really the only other one of any basic interest.
I thought this line on WVA v Maryland was strange (3) when they held in very well versus Alabama and Maryland looked like... well a Big 10 team, thus far. West Virginia's WRs were awful vs Bama - if they could catch the ball they might have won the game. If this was in Morgantown I'd take WVA by 17 or so.
Sounds like Maryland has benched its QB and is on QB #2. Not sure those NFL WRs at Maryland are going to have a chance to showcase their wares this year the way things are going.

Trickett has looked really good vs Alabama and this game. Nice development; wasn't that great last year.

Sharp cut by WV RB but forgot the ball. Turnover to Md
September 13th, 2014 at 2:18 PM ^
WVU drives straight down the field and then the RB forgets to bring the ball when he jukes. Maryland could pull this out.

Wow huge turnover for the Terps!

I can't imagine there are many of those

in the West Virginia Maryland game?
September 13th, 2014 at 2:26 PM ^
Lousivlle currently trailing Virginia. The ACC looks to have the most unbalanced divisions of the power 5 conferences. FSU, Clemson, and Louisville all in the same division.

All KSU players will receive a copy of the show's home game as a parting gift.

Trickett - you can't run. Don't do that.

God I love the turkey gobbler noise over the loudspeakers at VA Tech

Great stop by Md defense on 4th and 1 near end zone

Refs seem to be looking for reason to throw a flag on ECU in a way that they aren't on VT.
September 13th, 2014 at 2:33 PM ^
Maryland D coming up big when needed so far.
September 13th, 2014 at 2:34 PM ^
The Hoopies do travel well when they play Maryland, Pitt, UVA or VA Tech - they're good fans.

Wyoming up 7-0 on Oregon...
September 13th, 2014 at 2:41 PM ^
Ah ha.
Final score:
Oregon - 68
Wyoming - 7

Craig Bohl may not be long for Wyoming. Wouldn't be surprised to see him get a better job next off season.
September 13th, 2014 at 2:50 PM ^
Wyoming plays @MSU and @Oregon back to back. If he puts respectable performances up in year 1 after what he did at his previous spot a lot of schools will come calling. And if we dont turn it around we should be one of them. Lets see how this works out, Oregon could just be in hangover mode. Wyoming was 5-7 last year - guy could be good but if he keeps this within 21 it would be a miracle.
September 13th, 2014 at 2:52 PM ^
I'm sure the Ducks will blow them out. I just think with the success he has had and the fact that he has Wyoming looking somewhat decent already someone should take a shot at him.

I wonder just how bad the Big Ten's perception would become if VA Tech, Oregon, and Notre Dame (realize they're playing Purdue, but still) all lost in big upsets today.

The only game (on my cable package) worth watching now seems to be Maryland v. West Virginia.

I will say that you don't often see pass interference calls which basically look like a 10-yard attempt at pantsing the receiver, but as Maryland's secondary has, for the most part, shown as much ability to stop a play as the drizzle in College Park, I am guessing they'll take what they can get here.

Wyoming 7 Oregon 7 to start the 2nd quarter
September 13th, 2014 at 2:49 PM ^
I'm still not used to this watching-Maryland-on-BTN thing. Or seeing Classic College Football on the TV listings and having it be Rutgers playing in the Papa John's Bowl or some such thing.
This shit is bonkers.
September 13th, 2014 at 2:49 PM ^
The Indiana CB just basically hugged a receiver in mid air and didn't get called for PI.
September 13th, 2014 at 2:53 PM ^
Wyoming has 9 first downs and 161 yards early in the 2nd Q - i thought no team not named MSU could go to Autzen and do that!!
September 13th, 2014 at 2:54 PM ^
With all the talk of the Big10's playoff chances being low and they are, the ACC is basically FSU and that's it. VT and Louisville both look to be going down today.
September 13th, 2014 at 3:02 PM ^
Clemson beat OSU last year. Louisville lost both their coach and stud QB. Its not a deep conference but we have no depth either.
September 13th, 2014 at 3:04 PM ^
They haven't really replaced either. Bridgewater was a guy who probably ends up at Miami if they were not in mid scandle at the time.
September 13th, 2014 at 2:57 PM ^
Louisville is losing to an acc opponent though.....uva's defense looks for real
September 13th, 2014 at 3:01 PM ^
The two teams have combined for 6 turnovers, both are averagin just over 3 yards a carry and Louisville is averaging 4.2 yards per pass attempt. I think this game speaks to the state of the two teams offenses than their D.
September 13th, 2014 at 2:58 PM ^
I think the ACC is easily the worst conference top to bottom.
September 13th, 2014 at 3:04 PM ^
Such a B1G fan statement.

Oregon wakes up, 13-7, failed PAT it appears.
September 13th, 2014 at 2:59 PM ^
Is there any way this WVU/Maryland game ends in time to get to our game in time? Ugh. Hurry it up, you guys.
September 13th, 2014 at 3:00 PM ^
That's Maryland ball!
September 13th, 2014 at 3:01 PM ^
Big break for Maryland
September 13th, 2014 at 3:02 PM ^
Is C.J. Brown just Max Leidman with much better receivers?

September 13th, 2014 at 3:03 PM ^
Indiana may be bad, but Coleman is the real deal.
September 13th, 2014 at 3:05 PM ^
September 13th, 2014 at 3:06 PM ^
To further express how bad the ACC is, Ga Tech is losing to Georgia Southern right now at home. 38-35. This would be an atrocious loss.
