BBrown: Darian Roseboro Update
2015 DE/DT Darian Roseboro and I exchanged a few messages tonight and I just thought I'd pass along what he said.
He says that right now Michigan is even will all of the other schools that make up his top group (Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Duke, Michigan, NC State, North Carolina, Ohio State, Tennessee).
As of right now he doesn't have any return trips planned to Ann Arbor.
He plans to announce his decision his first week back to school on August 22 at 2:30 during his pep rally in front of his entire school.
A follower asked me about Roseboro on Twitter after my tweet saying that 2015 DE Clelin Ferrell will be announcing his decision tomorrow. All signs point to it being someone other than Michigan, probably Clemson.
I was hoping for a buckle up warning after he spent so much time here on his visit and seemed to enjoy the time.
I kid, I kid. Seriously though I feel good about Roseboro. He was in Ann Arbor for a long time on his visit and left very impressed. That shock appears to have worn off a bit, but I'd say Michigan is definitely in his top half.
I thought I read on 247's website that Roseboro was supposed to come back in July for the BBQ. Has that changed?
Two of Michigan's top overall targets have set return dates for a second unofficial to Ann Arbor. Lincolnton (NC) defensive end Darian Roseboro released a top ten tonight that included the Wolverines. The bigger news is that he will unofficially visit again in July, following a three-day visit last month that may have put Michigan in the lead for his commitment.
It may not be good news if those plans have changed but I don't see where any visits happened to other schools after the Michigan visit.
I almost didn't say gut feel for exactly that reason.
Any vibe on if Malzone is having any effect or Kinnel are having an effect. I think I read that both of them are working on him.
That is probably an area of my coverage I need to improve upon. Once a kid commits, I don't contact them much anymore, even though a lot of times they can have good information. Sometimes I feel like it can be offputting for me to contact a kid and just ask about someone else though. Fine line.
Roseboro had any comments positive or negative about the contact with them. You always wonder if it helps or not.
If we can come away with Roseboro and Lucier-South for the pass rush ill be very happy
One of the great things about getting Roseboro would be the chance to build a North Carolina-to-Michigan pipeline. BTW, any word on Jalen Dalton? Are they still recruiting him?
With Chris Clark trending blue, what impact, if any, does that have on the recruitment of Tyrone Wheatley, Jr? Is UM still in good shape for him? I always thought that legacies would be automatic blue (Troy Woolfollk, Jon Runyan, Jr.), but Tyriq Thompson and Justin Boren have given me reason to doubt that.
Thanks, BB. "Right now, he doesn't have any return trips planned toAnn Arbor..."
Do you get the vibe that he's considering coming back before Aug 22? If not, do you think UM still has a good shot based only on that one visit?
No you didn't
he's not coming here.
primarily because of distance. Which is why If Roseboro ended up committing to Ohio State that would really suck.
go Clemson. No surprise.
