It would be cool if 5 stars wanted to play for a national title winner who also consistently puts players in the NFL, especially on defense.

Michigan has had the upperhand in the rivalry the past few years and theres nothing wrong with celebrating that but those saying recruiting doesnt matter are burying their heads in the sand. Did recruiting matter when Ohio State won 8 games in a row?

Even with Bama getting number one classes every year, they still lost to Auburn occasionally. Thats football. Recruiting doesnt guarantee winning but it definitely increases your odds of success over the long term.

Simply dismissing what OSU is doing because of a couple years results may feel good but it is a lazy take.

The biggest area of concern for OSU is development of talent. Georgia and Alabama both acquire talent at the same or higher rate than OSU, but the difference is that they also highly develop the talent they have while OSU hasn’t done it all that well.

Michigan acquires potential talent at a much lower rate, but UM has consistently developed the talent they get at as higher, or higher, rates than Georgia or Alabama.

By year three or four, Michigan’s players that started at much lower levels of potential talent outplay OSU’s players with a much higher talent potential. It is very evident on the OL and DL. That is why Michigan has beat them the past three years.

This is what everyone said about Dantonio.  Recruited poorly but developed well.  Then the inevitable bottom dropped out of his inability to recruit at a higher level.  Expecting us to sustain with our mediocre recruiting (relative to OSU), especially with the coaching turnstile, is illogical.

Ohio State is running a recruiting clinic right now.  With Saban retiring they have filled the vacuum.  I'd be surprised if OSU doesn't win at least 3 championships in the next ten years.

If iron sharpens iron, the iron of Michigan's 3 year run has sharpened those mouth breathers down south into Optimus Prime with a Grecian formula subscription.

OSU just ruthlessly wants it more than anyone else. Ruthless enough to get investigators to blast on Stallions.  Now ruthless in setting any "family, do-it-right" Warde Manuel equivalent nonsense aside to raise tens of millions to get the best talent to likely go on a multi-year run.

Everyone's hope is that they'll go the way of Texas A&M but OSU is a different level of competence.  On our end we have an AD who appears good at doing nothing over second breakfast.  Not good Bob.
