do we have a date and a time, yet?
love stafford. so glad he won it all a couple of years ago. now wish him not his best game, no injuries, goes home sad.

Date and time will be announced later tonight (likely once BUF @ MIA goes final).
Just a reminder ..... there will be one playoff game (the Saturday night game) that will be exclusive to Peacock.
If the Peacock game is Rams @ Lions, it will still air over-the-air in the Detroit and Los Angeles markets, but that's it, it won't be over-the-air in, say, Grand Rapids or Santa Barbara.
We'll see, but I'm thinking this game will land there (MNF is likely, for logistical reasons, to be a 4 vs 5 game .... FOX is likely grabbing GB @ DAL and CBS will want the Chiefs game).

I hate the TV companies for pulling this BS.
January 7th, 2024 at 8:44 PM ^
The problem with that is the 4 vs. 5 games in each conference are easily the worst games of the playoff lineup, no matter what happens in the Bills - Dolphins game. The NFL has a much better relationship with ESPN and won't stick them with one of those games.
I think it goes like this:
Saturday 4:30 - Philadelphia at Tampa Bay (NBC)
Saturday 8:00 - Cleveland at Houston (Peacock)
Sunday 1:00 - AFC non-Chiefs game (CBS)
Sunday 4:30 - Green Bay at Dallas (FOX)
Sunday 8:00 - Chiefs home game (NBC)
Monday night - Rams at Detroit (ABC/ESPN)

You are correct - the 4 v 5 games this year are the worst wildcard games.
But --- ABC, for the 1st time, gets a 2nd round game this year (NBC, ABC, FOX and CBS each get one). The trade-off for a bad 4 v 5 game could be promising them a power-house 2nd round game.
Say, Detroit/Philly @ Dallas - FOX would complain but they'd still have SF and they likely get Dallas in the 1st round.
January 7th, 2024 at 8:48 PM ^
I dunno. Browns-Texans seems like a made-for-Peacock kind of matchup.
Rams-Lions and Packers-Cowboys will get massive numbers.
January 7th, 2024 at 8:25 PM ^
My big concern is Goff here. He cannot wilt with the former fan favorite Super Bowl.winner who they traded him for, returning.
January 7th, 2024 at 8:35 PM ^
dude has played great, with very little variance, ever since they started 2021 something like 0-10. 3-3-1 to finish. best QBR last 8 or 10 games of the season last year. lions are 12-5, should rightfully be 13-4 right now. i am in 'camp goff', he has earned it.

I’m personally more worried about the secondary. Nick Mullins threw for 396 yards today. Justin Jefferson had 192 receiving yards. Last week, Prescott/Lamb went for 345/227 yards. I don’t know how the Lions are going to cover both Nacua or Kupp.
January 7th, 2024 at 8:31 PM ^
If the clouds part and a booming voice thunders down from a shining light that only one of my teams can win this week, but I get to pick....sorry Lions.
January 7th, 2024 at 8:43 PM ^
That NFL script coming to fruition!
January 7th, 2024 at 9:01 PM ^
If Goff isn't motivated for this game....
January 7th, 2024 at 9:19 PM ^
I hope the Goff-Ra connection goes off
Amon-Ra getting snubbed for the Pro Bowl was peak disrespect
January 7th, 2024 at 10:51 PM ^
He wasn't going to beat out CeeDee Lamb, Mike Evans for the spot. You can argue Puka Nauca and AJ Brown but both have played just as well as him. Then there's an another snub, Brandon Aiyuk who probably put out the best efficiency stats but SF has too many weapons. It's a loaded field so someone was going to get left out.
January 7th, 2024 at 11:55 PM ^
Evans making it was a joke. St Brown has over 30 more catches and more yards.
January 8th, 2024 at 7:11 AM ^
Evans led the NFL in TD catches.
January 7th, 2024 at 9:49 PM ^
There should be noting but love for Matt. He gave us everything he had. He was a warrior for a flawed organization. Just like with JV, there should be nothing but good vibes.
January 7th, 2024 at 9:56 PM ^
I have nothing but good feelings for Stafford and what he did for Detroit. That said, I hope he sees a lot of the Ford Field turf next weekend.
January 7th, 2024 at 11:32 PM ^
Moose -- my feelings exactly. He did a ton for the team AND for the city. He played his heart out and often played hurt, if not playing outright injured in several games.
That said, I hope he gets sacked ten times and the Rams lose by 20.
January 7th, 2024 at 9:51 PM ^
Game time announced --- 8 PM SUNDAY night, NBC. Avoided the Peacock.
January 7th, 2024 at 10:03 PM ^
Like Cade. Thanks and good bye.
January 7th, 2024 at 10:33 PM ^
In what respect, exactly? Stafford took an opportunity to go win a Super Bowl during a coaching regime transition and by all means was gracious and transparent upon his departure. Many Lions fans even embraced his Super Bowl run and win as if he was still one of their own.
And Cade? Well… not so much.
This is a bad take.
January 7th, 2024 at 11:35 PM ^
You say goodbye......I say hello
January 7th, 2024 at 11:57 PM ^
Cade Cunningham?
Because it was nothing like McNamara.
January 7th, 2024 at 10:07 PM ^
We have seen situations where Stafford has not risen up to where he needs to be. I am hoping this is one of those. Don't hate the guy, but he is not a Brady/Montana/Bradshaw kind of quarterback where he finds a way to win. He found a way to win. Once. With some great players around him.
January 7th, 2024 at 10:33 PM ^
He even tried to lose in the NFC championship game gifting a game sealing INT to SF but their player dropped the ball that hit him in the chest.
January 7th, 2024 at 11:24 PM ^
Hopefully Stafford and Hutch get really close to each other for this game.
January 7th, 2024 at 11:40 PM ^
This should be fun.......and Sunday night too
Can Aaron Donald get to Goff? Will McVay be in Goff's head? Will Detroit be in Stafford's head? So many storylines. And the Lions open -3.5
January 7th, 2024 at 11:55 PM ^
Maybe Goff can comment on McVay's wife again.
January 7th, 2024 at 11:53 PM ^
Stafford returns to do what he was unable to do as a Lion. Staffords play will decide this game one way or another.
January 8th, 2024 at 6:53 AM ^
If the fates allow, Stafford will have a great game but throw a heartbreakingly brainless pick late in the game because (except for one damn year) he’s always been more arm than brain.
This will, of course, not be my heart that breaks. Go Lions. And Wolverines.
January 8th, 2024 at 8:51 AM ^
** Thanks Mods for removing that stuff. I’ve never understood people rooting for others to get seriously injured.
