Dillon Gabriel has committed to Oregon, as the first of the tranfer QB dominos falls. Dante Moore, our rumored target, was rumored to be scheduled to visit them next week, and I imagine that isn't the case anymore. Will be interesting to see where the big names end up, and hopefully we get one.

Market is what it is. While I don’t think McCord is bad but he seems like a Shea Patterson kind of five star so far - good, but not elite in games. Will make some big throws and miss some. So it may be that he left for whatever reason he left only to find his star didn’t shine as brightly as it did coming out of HS? Not sure. Both he and Nebraska could certainly do worse.

If everything we've heard about Dante Moore is true, this probably shouldn't change anything except for maybe that Oregon has shown they can't develop a QB and will always go to the portal

Hate Oregon. Hate Ohio a lot more. So all in all I think this is a largely positive outcome considering it's clear Ohio pushed McCord out the door and planned on bringing in a high value target.

Gabriel is by a significant margin the most dangerous QB in the portal for my money. And now Ohio won't get him. 😈

Gabriel is a great example of a guy taking advantage of the NIL market and making money because he doesn't have great pro prospects.  The one issue is that it sort of eats into your own QB development and at some point the COVID year will wear out and a bunch of 23-24 year old guys won't be around anymore.  Oregon has some talented guys on the roster and you'd think they'd want to give them a chance to start.

But a good move for him and I do think this will help UM with Moore, if both sides went that to happen.

Unpopular opinion. Michigan beats PSU and OSU by more if they run the Orji package all game long.

Jmho but the QB we lost out to Utah is the player in the portal I'd like to see Michigan pursue. He has Denard lite explosiveness. Rotate him with Orji at QB like Rbs. BIG defenses haven't stopped our run game in 3 seasons without much a QB threat to run. Go all in.

Weiss was getting there but I think we are going in a different direction now.

Michigan ran at Ohio for 7 minutes to milk that game, without a threat at QB

We threw, and completed, multiple passes on that drive.

As for PSU, not every called play in the second half was a run.  A couple of pass plays turned into scrambles by JJ and another drew a pass interference penalty.  In any event, we scored 10 points in the second half and both scores came on drives that started in PSU territory.   We never had a drive of 50 yards that half.

if I’m Harbaugh, I’d look at Ty Thomson (former 5* who has been at Oregon for 3 years)

had been backing up and was the presumptive starter next year
