What a Dude! Sadden the hear about his passing. Always been a big fan of his music and the fusing of jazz and rock. My two favorite songs are Goin' Down, JB Group, 1972 and Freeway Jam from Blow By Blow, 1975. Some free form jazz riffs in that one.

I will listen on and pay tribute to one of the all time greats. That was some pretty rockin stuff he did in the 1970s. RIP Jeff Beck.

I just happened to watch the People Get Ready vid last night (again). I can tell that it was shot in a dusty location.

On Instagram, Stewart — who celebrated his 78th birthday the day of Beck's death — wrote that the beloved musician "was on another planet."

"He took me and Ronnie Wood to the USA in the late 60s in his band the Jeff Beck Group and we haven't looked back since," he wrote. "He was one of the few guitarists that when playing live would actually listen to me sing and respond. Jeff, you were the greatest, my man . Thank you for everything. RIP."

Beck “Live with Jan Hammer” was in my car cassette player on the way to the slopes after 1977-78. With the introduction of the Walkman it was in my head down the hills. I swear this guy made me a better skier! What a talented artist.

Fuck. Truly one of the greatest guitarists ever, he has been a big influence on me (and my very inadequate playing) for literally decades. Some guitarists can make a guitar speak, very few can truly speak thru a guitar. Clapton, Page, May, SRV, VH, etc. couldn't hold a candle to him, sorry. He was touring and playing right on up to the very unexpected end, RIP.

I first remember Beck with the Yardbirds. Interesting some of my favorite rock guitarists played with the Yardbirds. Clapton was the first but when he left, he recommended his friend Page, who was doing well as a session guitarists, so he recommended his friend Beck. Eventually Page and Beck played together for a few years, with Page mainly as bass guitarists but went to lead when Beck was sick for a month. Page wanted to go more hard rock/psychedelia, and Beck wanted to stay  Blues/psychedelia  and folk. The band fell apart and Page hired Jones, who played occasionally as a bass player with Yardbirds and got Plant as vocal with his pal Bonham on drums for the new Yardbirds which became Led Zeppelin.  RIP Beck!

I first became acquainted with Beck when I bought the Yardbirds "Having a Rave-Up With the Yardbirds" album. Obviously he was most well-known for his interpretation of blues, but he also did from very non-bluesy stuff, like this piece from "Who Else"
