Funny you mention this: my Buckeye relatives have all suddenly become VERY interested in the weather.

And, also, shake their heads and say "if there is bad weather, UM is going to win."

How can you build a Big Ten Champion that can't run the football?

If you look at Michigan’s issues they are all “fixable” by Nov 26. OSU on the other hand…You cannot scheme away a soft OL and DL. You cannot magically find a running game with a handful of games left. You cannot control the weather.

Michigan can generate a pass rush with scheme. We can find a downfield passing game by throwing it down field and our QB hitting his shots. Red zone will be scheme creativity and execution. Slow starts are a byproduct of the style Michigan plays. Keep it close by halftime and keep pounding them until the damn bursts.

OSU seems to have at least one game every year that they just completely sleepwalk through and while you know they’re going to win, they look just awful and it’s like they didn’t bother putting a gameplan together the entire week.

Either way, if we get any kind of bad weather on that Saturday, Michigan has a great shot. OSU is built to win an indoor track meet. They are not built to win out in the elements. That could be, you know, a problem for teams that play in the Big Ten.

True, but I thought the sleepwalking game was last week vs. PSU.

OSU fans will dismiss this game because of the weather, but I wonder if this actually just further exposed OSUs run game weaknesses. I am not smart enough to diagnose whether this is an O Line issue, RB issue, or scheme problems. But they did not look like the #2 team in the country today.

If you can’t run the ball on a 1-7 Northwestern team, with the kind of massive talent advantage OSU has, you’ve got problems. I know Henderson was out, but with all the chirping I hear about Williams I figure that shouldn’t have mattered.

OSU has elite skill position talent. Probably the best in America. But they can be dealt with in the trenches. If today is any indication, Michigan can make serious hay on offense against these guys.

I love the Buckeyes line play on both sides of the ball.  Knowles Big 12 defense is perfect.

please, please … don’t change a thing.   Everything is perfect right now…

The weather was blamed for Germany's loss own the Eastern front in WW2. Yet the Russians had to fight in it too. Was it General Winter that prevented them from taking Moscow and holding Stalingrad, as the Germans later claimed, or were they insufficiently prepared for climate and chain of supply problems only an idiot blinded by hubris couldn't have foreseen?

It's something historians argue about. Did the weather help us last year? Well, it's something one can argue about. I looked up weather averages for Thanksgiving Day in Columbus v Ann Arbor, figuring the day after Thanksgiving would be similar.

I guess the best question in the case of M-OSU is, what is each team prepared for?

The Thanksgiving Day climate averages for Columbus, Ohio are:

Average High Temperature 46 degrees.

Average Precipitation 0.13 inches

Average chance of Precipitation 25%, 93% avg for rain, 3% snow alone, 4% mixed snow and rain

Greatest Snow Depth 1 inch (2013, 1959)

Average Wind Speed peaks at 12.2 mph at 1:15 PM

The Thanksgiving Day climate averages for Ann Arbor are:

Average Temperature 34.6

Average Precipitation .04 inches

Average Chance of Precipitation 24%, .83% rain alone, 6% snow alone, and 11% mixed snow and rain.

Greatest snow depth was 4 inches

Average wind speed in A2 peaks at 14.1 mph at 1:30 PM.

Conclusion:

Ann Arbor is substantially colder, a little drier, and a little windier on Thanksgiving than Columbus. How that affects each team's preparation and play is anyone's guess.

I found it interesting that Ohio had Stroud pull the ball several times on read options. Can't help but wonder if they wish they could have saved that for 3 weeks from now. Yes, our D knows Stroud can pull, but now we see it on tape. Agree, we look better and are clearly the more physical team.. Just hope the crowd doesn't intimidate the refs into more than a few crappy calls.  Was in that shthole in 2016, forget JT being short, the PI's and phantom PI's were completely one sided and each call seemed higher leverage than the last. Brutal.

I hope the weather is perfect. Typically bad weather is an equalizer for the lesser team.

I think we are the better team and we don’t need to hear their excuses.

Even a bit of rain dampened OSU offense. Hopefully they knock OSU down a notch after a less than impressive win against one of the worse team in the B1G.
